Perry Meridian (22-13) – Big hopes ride with national standout Baird (517 kills, 67 assists), plus senior libero Heather Corbin (580 digs), and junior Sadie Hill (89 blocks) … junior Taylor Hooten, up from JV, takes over for graduated setter Riley Taylor (1,072 assists) … coach Pat Carlson has bigger and stronger team … soph Aly Marcum (228) strengthens passing game … junior Hayden Cole (220 kills) and seniors Dee Slagle and Alexis Hill add to front line.

Coach’s comments: “We have a lot of players back from last year, but we did lose four seniors. These kids are very responsive and coachable, and they have improved. We have to make sure our sets are clean. We have really good hitters. They’re fun, they work hard and challenge themselves. It’s time to get down to business.”
