PERRY MERIDIAN (6A, 5-5) – Finished .500 for third time in four seasons …assistant coach/special team coordinator Matt Henninger succeeds Scott Marsh, who’s now at Roncalli as defensive coordinator … linebackers Rilee Miller (77 tackles), Noah Warren (62), Alec Patch (64) and Trent Bowsher (42) anchor a solid defense … nose guard Anthony Ruhana and defensive end Jack Koeller return … offense led up front by seniors Travis Ashley, Brandon Worley, Thomas Bolen and Steve Woolbright and junior Alex Parra … offense features quarterback Jalen Lee, running back Carlos Shane Jr., receiver D’Andre Miles and fullback Trey Breaziel … depth could be problem … big improvement ahead for Falcons.

Coach’s comments:
“For seven years I’ve learned from one of the best football guys around with coach Marsh. The staff includes four coaches who are Perry guys. The kids know the expectation; we didn’t have to change anything. We’re going to keep the ball rolling. We want the kids to be prepared and to play very hard.

“We have lots of pieces but the challenge is finding out where they fit best, offense or defense. We will be a fast and physical team. Some of our big players on offense may have to play some defense. We have had a few practices on (artificial) turf; future is bright with our own stadium.” – Coach Matt Henninger
