PictureSOUTHSIDER VOICE PHOTOS BY AL STILLEY Senior quarterback Chase Andries has already rewritten Beech Grove’s passing records.
BEECH GROVE (4A, 6-4) – Claimed Indiana Crossroads co-championship … coach Mark Weller has back-to-back winning seasons at BG, first time since 1995 … averaged 37.5 points and 443 yards total offense … quarterback Chase Andries (career, 6,017 yards, 63 touchdowns) at the helm … can throw to wide receiver Montrez Hearon and slotback Dylan Allen, tight end Dallas Culpepper, slot back Kylon Tyler and Walter Ballinger … seniors in lineman Josh Wofford and linebacker Nate Sanchez, plus juniors Isaiah Green and Isaiah Hulse lead defense up front with Culpepper at linebacker … depth a problem; cannot afford injuries … quick on offense and defense …will have to keep piling up points on offense … third straight winning season within reach.

Coach’s comments:
“We have a really good nucleus with a lot of playmakers who are back. More so than any other year we have built the offense around the talents of Chase Andries. We want him to mix it up with drop passes and getting to the edge. We have to stay healthy to reach our potential. We can’t have the injury bug hit us like it did last year; one point we were out seven players.

“We stress speed, speed, speed. Everything we do on defense and our blocking schemes depend on getting off the ball fast. We believe our program is now in place. Everything: Expectations, work ethic, attendance and schemes are in place for us.”   – Coach Mark Weller
