Six of the state’s top 14 boys basketball teams will be in action Saturday when the Forum Tipoff Classic gets underway at noon Saturday at Southport Fieldhouse.
Host Southport, one win away from a state final berth last season, meets No. 11 South Bend Riley at 7:20 p.m. in the day’s fifth game.
The top matchup finds reigning 4A state champion and No. 1-ranked New Albany going against No. 2 North Central at 2 p.m.
In other action, No. 9 Castle meets Mount Vernon in the opening game; Cloverdale vs. Park Tudor at 4 p.m., Fort Wayne Snider vs. No. 14 Hamilton Southeastern at 5:40 p.m.; and No. 3 Lawrence North vs. No. 5 Fort Wayne North at 9 p.m.
Organizers said they believe there will be a minimum of four McDonald’s All-Americans seeing action throughout the day.
Admission is $5 per student, $10 per adult.
