Key returnees for Greenwood are seniors in second baseman-pitcher Jarrett Caster, catcher-outfielder Damon Maynard and center fielder Dylan Rosado and juniors in outfielder-pitcher Jordan Martin and third-baseman-catcher TJ Bass.
GREENWOOD (15-11): Coach Andy Bass’ Woodmen have plenty of power and speed … senior center fielder Dylan Rosado (.400, 21 stolen bases) provides both … junior third-baseman TJ Bass (.299, 23 RBIs) leads infielders … third-year catcher Damon Maynard (.250, 21 hits) aggressive with arm … Woodmen pick up more speed with St. Louis move-in outfielder Sean Moss … senior first baseman Taylor Faust returns after a year’s absence … junior Greenwood Christian transfer Joel Stinnett is at shortstop … big question mark replacing graduated pitchers Reid Warner, UIndy (7-3, 1.36 ERA), and Preston Ley (2-2) … No. 1 pitcher Jordan Martin, a junior, has tricky curve ball … depth comes from classmate Jarrett Caster (2-2) plus seniors Jackson Beckham, Bevin Shackleford, McCauley Stunick and Trent Rains … on road for three games this week in Nashville, Tenn.; first home game April 5 against Mooresville.

Coach’s comment: “We have some big innings to replace on the mound. We have several good bats back, and that means we will be improved offensively. We have power in our lineup as well as speed. Experience behind plate should limit other team’s running game. We have some young arms. We have a large group of seniors and juniors. We’ll try different players at different positions on our trip South. That gives us a chance to find out what we need to work on. If our pitching comes around, we will be very solid.”
