(4-8) – Coach Mike Campbell (73-75) enters 14th season at helm … Woodmen graduated 19 seniors, including running backs/state wrestling runner-up Nick Willhelm (1,566 yards, 5.1 yards per carry) and Anthony Williams (4.6 yards per carry) plus lineman Justin Witusznyski …  averaged 206 yards on the ground last year … Woodmen want to grind it out but with more balance … junior Ethan Haessig leads running attack … senior Oliver Rae returns as signal-caller … best target, senior receiver/safety Luke Raker (15.8 yards per catch, 43 tackles) … deep receivers include Isaac Turley, Jaydin Sheppard, Tanner Allen … o-line solid with junior Daylon Bene and Cameron Ford at tackle, senior Noah Dixon and soph Brayden Gardner and center Collin Campbell … d-line features end senior Scott Sledge with several newcomers … soph Gavin Ruppert, junior Gabriel Long, Bryce Hoffman and senior Joe Bassler at linebacker spots …  seek fourth winning season in last five years … first three games on road.

Coach’s comments: “We lost a lot of experience, but we have some returnees who had a lot of playing time last year. We have a deep receiving corps and with a returning quarterback (Rau); I can see that we will have more balance on offense. The o-line is coming around. Our d-line will be built by committee. We are strong at linebacker and d-backs. I expect some guys will go both ways, but we should be able to platoon a little more. We know that there are no nights off in the Mid-State because it is tough from top to bottom. We are anxious to get this season going.
