Greenwood, led by runner-up Hunter Smith, captured the boys championship with 52 points; New Palestine was second with 82 and Beech Grove fourth with 127s.
Smith covered the 5K distance in 16:20.6, 7.2 seconds behind Samuel Voelz of New Palestine. Five Woodmen finished among the top 18: Zeke Neihart, sixth, 16:50.2; Ethan Pine, 10th, 17:08.9; Conner Terhune, 16th, 17:36.0; and Bailey McMahon, 18th, 17:36.6.
Senior Vilis Vuskalns (16:49.4) finished fifth to lead Beech Grove. Greenwood Academy’s Hunter Slater (16:59.5) was eighth.
In the girls meet, Greenwood’s Krista Robinson was fourth and Beech Grove’s Megan Goldman was eighth.
