Franklin Central’s returning leaders are middle hitter Emily Jerrill, No. 2 in kills; senior Jenna Riley, No. 1 in kills; and sophomore assists leader Carly Sobieralski.
Franklin Central (17-15) – Program keeps growing with coach Sandy Moore … level of team play keeps improving … graduated four seniors, including libero Elleanne Moore (455 digs) and setter Kayla Green (187 assists) … lost junior Rachel Loobie to basketball  … onetwo punch with sophomore setter Carly Sobieralski (607 assists, 227 digs) and senior outside hitter Jenna Riley (team highs of 457 kills, 59 blocks, 32 aces) … middle hitter Emily Jarrell (132 kills, 32 blocks) and defensive specialist Dayton Thompson return … multi-position soph Brooklyn Schiffli and juniors Emma Mahoney and backup setter Bella Tarter, middle hitter Caroline Hibbard and rightside hitter Becca Hunley strengthen Flashes … competing in tough Hoosier Crossroads Conference for first time.

Coach’s comments: “We have some shoes to fill. We have lots of great players coming back, so I feel good about this season. Our front line will be a lot stronger, but we are working on new middle and outside hitters. We will be moving things around and shifting our lineup. Jenna has come back even stronger. I’m sure teams will be stacking against her. We are comfortable with our setter. Our program is ahead of where we have been in previous seasons. For Franklin Central we will be great; but we will have to match up against teams in a tough conference. My hope is that playing in the HCC it will help us give Center Grove some competition in the sectional.
