Franklin Central seniors Sarah Riedenbach, Madison Potts, Sammi Wessel and Andrea Adams bring experience to resurgent Flashes.
FRANKLIN CENTRAL (11-13) – Coach Brian Hacker (80-58) in seventh year at helm … looking to snap string of two straight losing seasons but still reached sectional championship game last season … must find replacements for graduated point guard Keyla Hines (13.3 points, 2.3 assists and steals, hit 48 percent of shots) and two more seniors … eight players return with 60 percent of offense from last year … point guard up for grabs among senior Andrea Adams and sophs Lexus Mobley (8.9 points, 3.4 rebounds) and Katy Larson … Mobley was state finals qualifier in 100- and 200-meter dash … 6-1 soph Rachel Loobie had standout freshman year, 15.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, hit 48 percent … senior Madison Potts can post up … classmates Sarah Reidenbach and Sammi Wessel have roles.

Coach’s comments: “Last year we really improved near the end of the season. We probably missed being really good by two weeks. I feel good about this team. We have to replace Hines and that could be done by committee. She was our point guard for two seasons and could really distribute the ball.

“We have a good nucleus and athleticism. We have Loobie back and expect her to mature and be even better. Our sophomores are not shy about stepping up, so they should keep improving. It may take a while to sort things out. I expect we will take our lumps early. I expect us to be a scrappy team that never gives up.”
