FILE PHOTO: Franklin Central earned its first win of the season Friday after taking multiple close losses in the 2015 season. After six straight losses, Franklin Central claimed its first win of the season against Conference Indiana foe Bloomington North 27-14. Kain Idele scored on runs of 70 and 18 yards and iced the game with a 1-yard TD with five minutes remaining. FC also scored on a 27-yard pass from Cody Jacob to Eli Weeks.
Nate Fries ran for five touchdowns and led 4A No. 14 Roncalli (3-4) to a 36-10 road win over Martinsville. Fries scored on runs of 6, 7, 14, 6 and 13 yards en route to a 214-yard game. The Rebels ran for 296 yards on the ground. Kenny Gillum carried 13 times for 69 yards.
The resurgent Manual Redskins (3-4) won for the third game in their last four outings by defeating city opponent Shortridge 37-12.
