FRANKLIN CENTRAL (18-7) – Seeking fifth straight sectional title … coach John Rockey must replace 70 percent of offense … seniors 6-7 Grant Pedigo (10.9 ppg, 6,2 rpg), 6-1 guard Mason Hardimon, 6-3 Jake Cerbone and 6-5 Wilson Huber with classmates 6-3 Adam Green and guard Marquel Harper up from JV … perimeter game and defense needs work … Rockey consistently has teams that peak in time for sectional run.
Coach’s comments: “Every player back either played or dressed for last year’s regional, so they know what it’s like. These kids have improved. They have worked hard on defense. We want to go inside and out on offense. Pedigo has to touch the ball to move the offense. We’re going to be challenged by very athletic teams. We can’t simulate that pressure and athleticism in practice that we will face during the season. Obviously, our goals are to go for five (sectional) championships in a row and get to Seymour (regional).”
