The Falcons led 3925 through three quarters but committed six turnovers in the fourth against FC’s aggressive trapping defense. Sophomore Jayden Taylor led the Falcons with 21 points and classmate Reggie McDonald added 17.
“We have struggled all season with protecting a lead,” Falcons coach Mark James said. “Our kids held on with three sophomore guards for the whole game. We made mistakes, but a game this intense was a good experience.”
The Flashes (3-18) had hopes of winning their third straight game against Perry Meridian and carry momentum into the tourney.
“We had won two games in a row and winning a third one would have been unbelievable for our confidence,” FC coach John Rockey said. “I feel great about the comeback; I don’t feel great about the way we played to be down 14 points in the first place,”
