Coach’s comments: “The winter seemed so long, and the guys are excited to get going. And I’m anxious to see what their hard work has done for them. Baseball is a game of reps, so our practices are very structured. They have bought into owning their positions. We have focused on pace and running bases, so we can get more runs in and limit our strike outs. Most starting positions are set. We plan on being two deep at every position. I can’t give them enough credit for buying into this system. Instead of any pushback, they were ready to come out, play a different style and win more games. They are motivated.”
