Perry Meridian senior Cassie Baird has been named Marion County’s Female Athlete of the Year.
Baird, who will attend the University of Denver, is an all-star volleyball and basketball player. When she was a sophomore her volleyball coach, Pat Carlson, stopped short of calling her perfect. But he added that it was hard to imagine a high school athlete anywhere being much better at her age.
