Coach’s comments: “Our 13 wins were outstanding because we played a very tough schedule. We made it to the sectional championship and into the fifth inning 0-0 against Edinburgh and ran into trouble. We were so young and hopefully our young players gained valuable experience. They are settling into their positions. We’re expecting great things from our juniors in their third year on varsity, and we have a couple of freshmen who are swinging a big bat. The one piece we have been missing is a consistent catcher, and we are going to give a freshman a shot. We’re going to go from having two No. 1 pitchers to a five-pitcher rotation, which should give us the opportunity to mix it up a bit. We are more mature and stronger this year.”
