Center Grove (6-0, 5-0 Metropolitan Interscholasic Conference) solidified its 6A No. 1 ranking by defeating 6A No. 14 Lawrence Central (2-4, 2-2) 44-26.
The Trojans’ Titus McCoy ran for 302 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. Trevor Hohlt gained 102 yards, including a 39-yard score, and Lee Clinker scored on a 77-yard romp. The Trojans racked up 576 yards on the ground.
Center Grove trailed 12-0 before McCoy’s 55-yard TD late in the second quarter spurred the Trojans’ comeback. McCoy has gained 902 yards on the season and is averaging 6.9 yards per carry.
