A capacity crowd of Roncalli’s “family” members celebrated football and school spirit on a gorgeous evening Sept. 2 at Roncalli Stadium, where tailgating was the norm.
In a pregame ceremony senior Luke Smock was awarded the $1,500 Spirit of Family Tradition Scholarship by the Alumni Association. Smock, who is a member of the football and track teams, is seen with his parents, Andy and Suzanne, graduates of the school’s class of 1982.
There was also a special halftime performance (below) by hundreds of former Roncalli cheerleaders from the past 48 years.
The night culminated with the Rebels defeating Bishop Chatard 21-14.
