The 4A No. 12 Hornets are 3-0 for the first time in 18 years. They were 3-0 in ICC play in 2009 after defeating Lutheran.
Under coach Mark Weller, Beech Grove with its one-two punch of quarterback Chase Andries and running back/receiver Walter Ballinger have scored 162 points in this season, just two points shy of matching a three-win run last year. The Hornets hold the two-game record of 124 points this year, busting last year’s high of 114 points against Scecina and Howe.
Beech Grove will aim for 4-0 for the first time since 1989 and the first time in the ICC when hosting Scecina on Friday.
