Murdock, who earned a triple major in international business, management and marketing, was nominated on the basis of her achievements in academics, athletics, service and leadership.
She won the 800-meter run at the 2015 Division III outdoor track and field national championships and earned All-American honors at the 2015 indoor national championships. She was the 2014 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference cross country-individual champion and was the league’s Female Athlete of the Year for 2014-15 after winning five conference outdoor and indoor track titles.
The NCAA will select nine finalists, with the winner being announced during a banquet on Oct. 18.
