Center Grove freshman golfer Erica Shepherd has been named to the American Junior Golf Association’s Junior All-Star team, being honored as one of the top 12- to 15-year-old golfers in the world.
Shepherd is No. 53 in Polo Golf rankings and was third in the Junior All-Star at the KPMG Stacy Lewis Junior All-Star Invitational and Under Armour/Jeff Overton Championship at Otter Creek.
She is among 10 golfers who will compete in the Junior All-Star Invitational in Oregon Oct. 9-12.
The Trojans won the Johnson County championship at Hickory Stick Golf Club in Greenwood last week.
Senior Sydney Abbott fired a 72, and junior Shelby Shier had a 76 as the No. 12 Trojans finished 12 strokes ahead of Whiteland, 315-327. Greenwood, led by Melanie Hughes’ 84, was third with a 368.
