JOSEPH C. BOVA, 93, wife, JoAnn Bova; children, Michael (Kim) Bova, Josephine (Eric) Evans, Nancy (Brandon) Pinna, Christina Spears; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Joe graduated from Emmerich Manual High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army. He joined the family business, Bova Fruit Co., and retired in 1999, after more than 50 years.
Joe was a charter member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Downey Council #3660. He was a sports fan who always looked forward to cheering on the home teams.

DONNA KAY DAVIS, 77, widow of Daniel W. Davis; children, Karen Bockover, Loretta Gaines, Mary Brown, Jimbo, Robbie, and Daniel W. Davis, Jr.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Reese, Patricia, Mary, Sharon, Pamela, Rita, Butch, and David Bailey.
She was a member of Berean Baptist Church. She enjoyed her dog, Bella, cooking, making fried chicken, working in her garden, and cutting grass in her bare feet. She enjoyed sitting out in the sun and loved having her family around. She was always the mom of the neighborhood.

BARBARA “BIB” JANE DILE, 83, widow of Thomas E. Dile; children, Terri (Dickie) Ballard, Jodi Smith, Mark (Kathy) and Thomas Dile; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Rose (George) Rhude and Mike (Jan) Spears.
Barbara was a homemaker for the majority of her life. She enjoyed listening to music and watching all different types of sports. She was a big fan of the Pacers and Colts. Barbara loved when she had the opportunity to go to a casino to try her luck. She loved animals. She jumped at every chance she had to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

JANET FIELDS GUZIER, 72, brother, Gordon B. Fields; son, Brett Guzier (Rhonda); two granddaughters; one great-grandson.
Janet’s caring nature led her to touch many lives as an Instructor at Crossroads Rehabilitation Center where she was highly respected by both clients and coworkers.
There will be a gathering to celebrate Janet’s life and to share all of the wonderful memories with the date and time to be announced in the near future.

PATRICIA F. HARVEY, 64, husband, Rick; children, Katy, Rick, and Erica; four grandchildren; one brother; three sisters-in-law.
She met the love of her life, Rick, while at Roncalli High School. They were married in the summer of 1976. Together, they raised three children. The arrival of her four grandchildren filled her heart with happiness and pride.
Pat was a life-long learner and loved the written word. She was an avid reader and published poet and writer. Pat followed her passion for learning to become a college professor and writing instructor.

THERESE C. ROLFSEN MAPPES, 92, widow of Norbert Mappes; children, Connie (Mike) Shelburn, Mary Sue (Wiley) Craft, Terrence (Ann), Kenny (Debbie), John (Karen), Donald (Therese), Andy (Cindy), and Billy (Holly) Mappes; brothers, Paul and Jack Rolfsen; 27 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
As a homemaker, Terry calmly managed a very busy household of eight children. She worked for 27 years at the front desk of the Ruth Lilly Center at UIndy.
Quick-witted, she had a smile that could light up any room. Terry was a kind and gentle soul with an enormous strength guided by her faith.

EMILE SYLVAN MARMANDE, 96, widower of Diana Marmande; children, Elizabeth Roberts (Michael), Michael Marmande (Janice); stepdaughter, Linda Koch; sister, Genevieve Wathen; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in WWII and a paint chemist supervisor.

NICCOLA “NICKIE” PENIX, 83, widow of Samuel Penix; children, Peggy Jones, Sam “Keith” (Crissy) Penix; son-in-law, Jonathan Ewbank; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
As a child, Niccola was diagnosed with polio and was able to overcome her struggles.
Niccola worked as a babysitter for many families and retired in 2017 after 50 years. Niccola was a member of Circle of Hope Wesleyan Church in Beech Grove. She was diagnosed with and beat cancer with the support of her family and friends. Niccola enjoyed going bowling, watching western films and supporting the Dallas Cowboys.

HELEN LOUISE PINKSTON, 95, widow of Arthur Wm. Pinkston; children, Donna (Tim) Smith, Brenda (Walt) Colbert, Jerry (Terri), and Mike (Patti) Pinkston; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
Helen retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, completing word puzzles, and listening to music. Helen’s favorite thing to do was spending time and laughing with her family.

ALAN “BIG AL” LEE SIMPSON, 79, children, Sharissa Ulrey (Mike) and Kimi Martinez; three grandchildren; siblings, Del (Ev) Hannah, Stan Simpson.
Del played a significant role in Al’s upbringing, providing care and love.
Al found solace in being with his family, mountain bike riding, playing guitar, creating CDs of his recorded songs for loved ones, marveling at cloud formations, and witnessing breathtaking sunsets.
He was a larger-than-life personality, a thoughtful individual. He embraced life with courage and love. In the face of adversity, Al fought bravely until his last breath.

WENDY LYNN STIVERS, 45, mother, Linda Stivers; siblings, Lorrie, Tim and Bill (Autumn, caregiver).
Early in life, she enjoyed going on car rides and adventures with her mom and grandma where at times, she could be spotted supporting her little brothers playing baseball, while dad was beside them as coach.
Wendy’s big sister, Lorrie, was her first best friend, caregiver, advocate and played a huge role in helping Wendy live the best life she possibly could. Wendy absolutely loved her family, caregivers and being the center of attention, and going on joy rides with caregiver Kelly.

KAREN DIANE SUDLER, 65, husband, Fred Sudler, III; sons, Jeremy (Nerissa), Michael (Stephanie), Christopher (Danielle) and Fred (Rochelle) Sudler, IV, Robert (Lisa) Lowe; siblings, Mike (Ellen) Roetker, Susan (Steven) Canary; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.

KATHY LYNN TABOR, 55, children, Robin, Elizabeth, Jennifer, and Benjamin; three grandchildren; brothers, Malcolm “Terry” and Robert Miracle.
She was a graduate of IUPUI and received a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, cooking, singing, and bringing joy to others.
Kathy loved all and helped all that she could, no matter the circumstances. The lives she touched are endless and she will always be remembered and deeply loved.

She was in the first graduating class of 1957 from Wood High School. Retta worked for Citizens Gas Co., Riley Tire & Chemical Co., and finally retired from Teamsters Local No. 135. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, and was an avid fan of IU Basketball.

DAN RUSSELL WARE, 75, wife, Debbie; children, Tammy (Manolo), Justin (Kristin), Josh (Kerry); brother, Paul; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Dan graduated from Manual High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a Purdue University alumni.
Dan inspired everyone he met with his passion for music, painting and architecture. He was an avid reader and loved the outdoors. Most of all he treasured his time with family and friends.
