Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Orion L. Starks and Carrol Dennis; sons, Gary Lee and David Alan; sisters, Dorothy King, Bertha Baird, Katherine Marschke; and brothers, Frank VanSickle, Jay VanSickle, and Joe VanSickle.
Family was of utmost importance to her. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Pam Starks; grandchildren, Deanna Horen (Ryan), Donna Kelly (Jim), Curtis Starks; and great-grandchildren, Cameron (Olivia), Jessica, Brenna, Emily, Nathan, Zachary and Rylan.
She was a wonderful woman who loved her family more than anything. She will be remembered as a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, aunt, relative and friend to so many. She had a passion for writing, spending time in her garden, and cherished her time at the cabin in Brown County. She was also the original (Charter) Founder of New Hope of Indiana (Noble School) and held the distinction of being the oldest living alumni of Beech Grove High School, class of 1938. She had a long lifetime of experiences that only a book could contain and was an inspiration in so many ways. One motto she always wanted to live her life by was “Attitude and Gratitude”
Lucille loved the Lord and was a member of the Beech Grove Methodist Church since she was 16 years old.
Visitation was held on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023 followed by a Celebration of Life Service at Little & Sons Funeral Home – Beech Grove, 1301 Main St., Beech Grove, IN 46107. A Graveside Service was held on Monday, Nov. 6, 2023 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Florence was an Auxiliary member of the (FOP) Fraternal Order of Police for many years. She was a gauge inspector for Indiana Gear, a volunteer for St. Francis Hospital and a private nurse for Mildred Laughner. She enjoyed planting flowers, cooking, shopping, watching basketball and traveling.

HARRIET CHEW BOYER, 95, widow of Carl Boyer; children, Carl Boyer III and Nancy Boyer Patterson (Pat); five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
She grew up on a farm and was the youngest of six sisters and two brothers. Harriet graduated from Southport High School in 1948.
She loved Christmas, shopping, and spending time with her family.

ELIZABETH “BETTY” WILLIAMS CAREY, 88, widow of C. William “Bill” Carey; daughters, Ann Marie Carey and Elizabeth “Beth” Carey Franke; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; siblings, Rose Marie Perkins, James (Mary) Williams.
Betty was a graduate of Southport High School and attended Butler University. She was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ.
She enjoyed volunteering, bridge, bowling, tennis, golf. Betty was a fan of Purdue University and loved watching sports, especially basketball, football, tennis, and golf.
Visitation will be Sat., Nov. 11, 2023 from 1-2 p.m. at Friedens United Church of Christ and celebration of life at 2 p.m.

ROBERT C. CHAMPION, 83, wife, Maria Champion; children, Tracy (Bill) Wilson and Robert (Gina) Champion Jr.; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a cabinet maker for General Fabricators for 30 years. Robert was a lifelong member of the Christian Baptist faith. He was a member of the American Legion. He was meticulous and organized, and amazing at assembling scaled ship models and puzzles. He enjoyed woodworking. Robert was a family-oriented man.

GENEVA NAPIER COMBS, 79, husband, Eugene Combs; sons, Jeffrey (Mindy) and Toddy Combs (Jessie); siblings, Irene Sabia and Ronnie Napier; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Geneva was a proud wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

Lea graduated from Southport High School in 1974. She worked in underwriting for State Auto Insurance Co. for over 20 years, retiring in 2022.
Lea was a social butterfly, always enjoying a good get-together with her family and friends. She had a quick wit even on her last days with her family. She was always making everyone feel good with her presence. Her favorite thing was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

MATHIAS GREHN, 50, wife, Danielle; children, John, Elisabeth, Anna, and Boglarka (host daughter); mother, Birgitta; brothers, Marcus, Andreas (Sadete), and Jacob.
Mathias’ life was a testament to his deep passion for Jesus, his commitment to preaching hope, his love for his family, music, technology, and even his lawn. He made a significant impact by planting two churches in the Dominican Republic.
His commitment to hospitality and sharing his culture showed in his love for cooking Swedish meals for friends and family.

DONALD RAY LASITER, 93, wife, Mary Lasiter; daughters, Patricia Besser, Glenda Johnston and Diane (Bill) Anderson; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Harry (Vicky) Lasiter, Doris Rhoades.
Donald served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from GM after 36 years. Don loved to travel and was an avid reader.

Her hobbies included quilting, reading and playing card games. She was a member of several quilt guilds. Kyle had many interests, but what she loved most was time spent with her family and friends.

Debbe grew up in the Sacred Heart Neighborhood in the Old Southside. She studied cosmetology and mastered the art of sculptured nails. She had a great sense of humor and was a kid at heart. Have an ice-cold Coca-Cola and a White Castle in her honor and smile knowing she is with you in spirit making sure your fries are fresh.

Noretta worked at Mason & Dixon Truck Lines, then retired from Firestone Building Products.
Her favorite pastime was eating out with anyone she could get to join her. And of course, she always had to pay.
Noretta’s faith and love for the Lord was the core of her life. A member of Capital City Baptist Church, she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to assist.

ANTHONY “TONY” M. WHITE, 36, daughter, Neveah; mother, Kim Eakle; brothers, Harold “Trey” Eakle III (Nikki) and Joseph “Joey” Eakle.
Tony was a devoted and proud father to his beautiful daughter. He was a gentle giant, with a heart as big as he was. Tony was a proud nerd about wrestling, music, cooking and movies. He loved his family and friends immensely. Tony was the memory keeper of the family and had an exceptional recollection of the past.
