
Woodrow Alan Hillenburg was born on July 2, 1971 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a Millwright, and enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, playing pool, NASCAR, listening to music and he loved sitting around a bonfire.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Hillenburg, mother, Mary Fleenor and sister, Carla Head. He had three children, Jacob, Whitney, and Glen. Six step-children Ashlee, Kristina Drake, Timothy, James, Brenda and Michael Charnes. Eleven grandchildren, Archer, Eli, Ki’Lee, Divada, Desarai, Nattilynn, Noah, Mathew, Savannah, Jayla and Heaven. Nephews Curtis and Timothy, niece Chelsee and many more. Uncle Roger Hillenburg.
He is preceded in death by his father Alan Woodrow Hillenburg, grandmother Ruth Axsom Hillenburg, grandfather Lenza Hillenburg, uncle David, Herold and aunt Ida Hillenburg. A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion, Post 64 at 601 South Holt Road Indianapolis, Indiana 46241. Between the hours of 6 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024. He will be cremated and his final resting place will be Washington park East Cemetery.

He attended the University of Indianapolis. John was passionate about helping and taking care of others. He held his AA club dear to his heart and did his best to give back and support others. He loved cheering on his favorite sports teams. During the summer, you would find him driving his boat and spending time with his family at the lake.

Charles Fredrick Brammer, 83, of Indianapolis, entered into eternal rest on January 22, 2024. He was born on February 24, 1940 in Covington, Tennessee to the late Russel and Florence Brammer. Charles graduated from Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN with a degree in Engineering. After college he moved to Indianapolis where met the love of his life, Caroline Sensback, and they were married on January 28, 1963. He worked for various construction companies on many different engineering projects throughout the United States later retiring from Charles C. Brandt Construction. His most accomplished projects were at Assembly Hall on the IU campus in Bloomington and on the Chemistry Building at Purdue University. Charles was involved with choir at Nativity Catholic Church and his life was centered on his faith. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing his guitar, and getting outside where he would go hunting. Charles dedicated a lot of time with the Lions Club in his early years. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandchildren.
Along with his parents and stepmother, Rebecca Brammer, he was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Brammer.
Left to cherish in his memory are his children, Christy (Keith) Kesterson, Jeffrey (Jaime) Brammer, Deborah (Kirk) Snyder, Laurie Slick (Patrick Burdsall), Angela (Steve) Huffman, and Melissa Ayala; sisters, Charlotte Steward and Alma Josephine “JoJo” Kendall; nephew, Blake; nieces, Tammy, Randi, and Laura; 14 grandchildren; along with 5 great grandchildren.
As Charles would say, “it’s all over but the crying”.
Services were held January 26 with the Mass of Christian Burial that followed at Nativity Catholic Church, 7225 Southeastern Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46239. Burial was held in Calvary Cemetery.

JUANITA “RENA” LYONS BROWN, 85, widow of Gene Brown; sister, Roberta Tinkle; daughter, Kim (John) Lawburg, five grandchildren.
Rena worked for Indiana University Hospitals in Guest Relations for 30 years. During retirement, she volunteered numerous hours a week at Riley Hospital for Children and the Ronald McDonald House. Rena was also a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Professional Business Women’s Association.
Rena enjoyed jogging and walking. She participated in the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon 25 times with her last race in 2019.

ROBERT “ROB” A. COBB, 59, life partner, Ronda Wilson; children, Jessica and Rachael Cobb, Joshua Welch; brother, Tom (Diane) Cobb; eight grandchildren.
Rob attended Perry Meridian High School and went on to work for Rolls Royce for 28 years before retiring in 2023. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local 933. Rob was a car enthusiast, enjoyed auto racing, and was a member of the G.T.O.A.A. He had a heart of gold, liked everyone, and would help anyone in need.

TERRY EDENS, 63, wife, Debbie Gebhart Edens; daughter, Tisa (Frank) Anderson; two grandchildren; mother, Margaret Leap; siblings, James Edens and Tina Funke.
He was a self-employed painter. Terry loved spending time with his grandchildren, they meant the world to him. He enjoyed golfing, and watching sports.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wed., February 7, 2024, at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
ROBERT “BOB” MARTIN GOUL, 62, wife, Katy Goul; siblings, twin brother, William “Bill” Goul (Lisa), Teresa Webb (Steve), Linda Reed, Daniel and James Goul (Sharon); stepchildren, Leah Goul, Tara Lokan (Nick), Savannah Reed, Albert Tackett (Kaitie); nine grandchildren.
Bob was always a character, ready to bring a smile to people’s faces. He loved to make people laugh and was known to always have a joke ready, a funny story, or a song to sing to cheer you up. Bob was employed with the Peterman Brothers Heating & Cooling.

John Andrew Hoffman, age 59, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 21, 2024. John was born June 13, 1964 in Indianapolis to Hilfred “John” and Clara Hoffman. He graduated from Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis. He also graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Humanities, Social Science, and Education and with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Management. He also had an MBA from the University of Indianapolis and a Master of Science in Education from Indiana University School of Education. He was also a Registered Nurse with the State of Indiana and had worked at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He also worked at Indiana University’s Laboratory Animal Resource Center. He was currently working as a science teacher at Mooresville High School in Mooresville, Indiana.
It wasn’t until John found his job at Mooresville High School that he found his calling in life and his true love. John would spend countless hours talking about his students and how he enjoyed teaching them and seeing how sharing his knowledge of science made a real impact on them.
John was an avid reader of history and science. He enjoyed the older strategy computer games and would spend endless hours playing and taking copious notes so he would never fail. He had an immense passion for cats and would make sure his neighboring feral cats always had food and water.
John is survived by his father John Hoffman; siblings Cynthia “Cyndy” Wycoff, Pauline “Paula” (Dave) Oliverio, Steven Hoffman and Wayne Hoffman; and nephew Christopher Wycoff. John was preceded in passing by his mother Clara Agnes Hoffman and sibling John Francis Hoffman.

SHIRLEY L. HOGUE, 89, widow of Robert Hogue; children, Sherri (Michael) Inman, Michael, and Jeff (Angela) Bowman.
She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1952. Shirley worked as an executive secretary for Indiana Gas Safety Department. Shirley was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved animals including a variety of dogs, birds, squirrels, rabbits, and many other woodland creatures. She had a fun-loving demeanor that was complimented by her motherly nature.

PAUL DAVID “PETE” HOLLENBAUGH, 84, wife, Cindy Lou (Kelley) Hollenbaugh; children, Jill (Richard) Schroering, Patricia (Jeremy) Matis, Joseph Hollenbaugh; sisters, Jane Kuroiwa Cazier and Judy Gaunt; stepchildren, Rich (Mandee), Jeff (Amy), and Trisha Beasley, Kerri (Cletis) Gipson; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Pete attended Emmerich Manual High School and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He started working at the age of eight. Pete enjoyed Karaoke and was always singing. He was friendly, had a great sense of humor, and could make people laugh.

She worked at Bright Point as a cell phone programmer. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible and Diamond art

KATHLEEN B. KALINA, 85, widow of Hank Kalina Sr.; children, Kathy and Hank Kalina; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; siblings, Martha Mondy, Lawrence, and John Bushlow.
Kathleen was a respiratory therapist until her retirement in 2016. She was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church. She was supportive of many Catholic charities. She was an avid reader, was very studious, loved to garden and was a history buff. She stayed active until the very end. The most joyous thing she enjoyed doing was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

THOMAS G. LAUCK, 77, wife, Sheila; children, Matthew (Johanna) Lauck and Elizabeth (Tracy) Godfrey; one grandson; siblings, Gary (Kim), Rick (Patty), and George (Melanie) Lauck; Peggy (Dan) Delaney.
Tom attended St. Mark Grade School, graduated from the Latin School, and attended St. Meinrad Seminary. He graduated from Xavier University in 1970. He worked in finance and retired from the State of Indiana.
He was a member of Saints Francis & Clare of Assisi Catholic Church. Tom was known for his independence, dry humor, and ability to sprinkle in sarcasm to just about any circumstance.

HAYLEIGH J. MITCHELL, 24, sons, Keegan Benner and Kylo Mitchell-Alemen; father, Chad Mitchell; grandmother, Diana Hundley; grandfather, Jerry Mitchell; sisters, Destiny Mitchell and Charlea Jo Faulkner.
Hayleigh graduated from Southport High School. She found delight in boating, fishing, and watching crime, horror, and reality television shows. She never failed to radiate elegance and beauty. Her girly-girl nature harmoniously coexisted with her fierce competitive spirit.
Hayleigh cherished the time spent with her family and friends. She thrived in their company and was reluctant to be apart from them.

JAMES E. MORRISON, 92, wife, Ann (Rainbolt) Morrison; children, Joe and Amy Morrison, Jeni Harris; four grandchildren.
Jim served in the U.S. Air Force. Jim enjoyed reading, camping, sports, and travel. He was a member of the Southport United Methodist Church and Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, American Legion Post #252 Color Guard Unit. He volunteered with the Suicide Prevention Line, Junior Chamber of Commerce, and Boys Scouts of America.
Services will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2024, at Southport United Methodist Church with visitation from 2 p.m. until time of service. Arrangements by Singleton Community Mortuary.
MARY ELLEN MCHUGH REED, 76, widow of Grant Reed, Jr.; son, Grant “Skip” Reed, III.; three grandchildren.
Mary Ellen graduated from Sacred Heart High School, class of 1965 and went on to work in the insurance industry. She was devoted to her family, faith, and praying the rosary daily.

DONALD “DONNIE” “DJ” RIEGER, 76, children, Joseph “Joe” Rieger, Laura Rieger; one grandson; brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Rieger; companion, Phanalphia “Nell” Gregson.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a member of the NRA. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He worked at Eli Lilly for 37 years, retiring in 2005.
DJ loved spending time with his family and was a loyal, kind man. He enjoyed fishing, shooting, traveling, and weekly get-togethers with his buddies at the local taverns.

LAURA JOAN SAMS, 83, children, Shawn (Melissa) Sams, Rick, Ronnie (Carola), and Sherry Pardue; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Shaw.
Laura worked as a machine operator for Nachi Technology INC and retired after over 20 years. Laura was a lifelong animal lover. She favored cats and leaves behind her two kitties. Laura was very caring and nurturing. She enjoyed spending time with her family and giving herself to them in any way she could.
The funeral service will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens on Wed., February 7, 2024 at 1 p.m.
MABEL ANN ROTH SCHWARK, 102, widow of August “Augie”; children, Ann (Rick) Hinchman, A. C. (Janie) and Jim (Kristen)Schwark; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Mabel was an avid quilter, homemaker, cook, bowler, card player, and St. Louis Cardinal fan. She volunteered countless hours at Calvary Lutheran Church and School and in the community. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, and had a quick wit and a beautiful smile!

RUTH MARIE WAMBSGANSS, 94, widow of Ted Wambsganss; daughters, Katie (Bob) Rode, Paula (Phil) Boley, Jeanie (Willy) Frizzell, and Julie Wambsganss; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed family vacations, especially the annual trip to Wisconsin. Ruth was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church and a secretary at St. John Lutheran School. She volunteered for the Crisis and Suicide Hotline for more than 10 years and was honored for it by the City of Indianapolis. Ruth was a talented soprano, having been a soloist for many weddings. She loved IU Basketball.
