​JOHN R. “JACK” SHEA, 92, passed away on March 17. He was born on April 28, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN to Paul and Maus (Lantry) Shea. Jack is survived by his niece, Patty (Rick) Redmond and her children, Rachael, Matt, and Adam; and his chosen family, Greg (Liz) Dant Sr., J.N. Dant, Gregory Dant Jr., godson, Evan Dant, and Mary Palmieri; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill, Pat, Dan and Jim Shea; sisters, Ellen Weems, Margaret Spanik, Mary Ann Povinelli, and Rita Crafton; great niece, Kelsey Redmond.
He retired from Eli Lilly in 1988. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, the Southport Flag Project and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2023 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Road, with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass.


STEPHEN BRODIE BASS, 45, wife, Brandi Bass; daughters, Breanne and Breece Bass; mother, Elaine Bass (Fortner); stepmom, Caroline Bass (Preston); siblings, Angeline Young, Edwin Bass.
Brodie graduated from Greenwood High school in 1996 then served in the U.S. Air Force from 1996 to 2000. While serving, Brodie fueled Air Force One twice and served two tours of duty in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. He worked for Charter Communications for 13 years. Brodie was known for his entertaining stories, great impersonations, and grilling out.

ENID LYNN BOBBITT, 92, husband, Albert R. Bobbitt; children, Brian (Cherri) and Eric (Janet) Bobbitt, Claudia (Shimon) Liang, Amy (Edwin) Cheek; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.  
Enid was fiercely loyal, brimming with laughter and infectious fun. She animated her household with stories, wisdom, and steady, selfless care. Her personal connection with each grandchild filled their lives with songs, games, and the knowledge that they mattered. She taught Social Studies and English at Meridian Middle School. She was an active member of Southport Christian Church for over 60 years.

DANIEL J. CASEY, 91, widower of Marguerite M. Casey; children, Erin (Philip) Chamberlin, Paul (Marcia) and Sean (Ellen) Casey; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Daniel enjoyed Notre Dame football. He watched Friday night Center Grove football games live-streamed. He attended all his grandchildren’s games, activities and dance recitals. Daniel was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Barnabas Catholic Church, and Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi. He was owner and president of Kool Vent Sales and Service. Daniel retired in 1998.

DAVID EUGENE CREASEY, SR., 82, wife, Shirley Creasey; children, David (Christie) Creasey and Nita Johnson; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
David had been employed in production for Stokely-Van Camp and then for PepsiCo after their purchase of Stokely’s. He retired after 38 years of service. In his younger days he was a Golden Gloves boxer with the PAL Club. He enjoyed IU basketball, boxing, football and fishing. He was an evangelist associated with the Apostolic Pentecostal Bread of Life and a member of the Gospel Lighthouse. He had been a minister for 35 years.
Forest Lawn Memory Gardens handled arrangements.

JUDITH ANN ENGLAND, 68, husband, Gary England; children, Jody England (Beth) and Joni Rigdon (Joe); sister, Jeannie Hucks; seven grandchildren.
Services entrusted to Little & Sons, Beech Grove.

BARBARA SUE GAST, 92, widow of Richard L. Gast; son, Jeff Gast.
Barb enjoyed sewing, reading and dining out. She was a member of Gracepoint Church in Whiteland.

LOWELL HASTE, 74, wife, Alma Haste; children, Christopher (Anna) Haste and Leah (Brian) Betts; one grandson; siblings, Jewell (Jerry) Flake and David Haste.
He had been employed at Arvin Industries for 21 years and at General Motors for 13 years as a tool and die maker before retiring in 2004. He loved old cars and country music but most of all he loved his family.

DONALD JAY LADD, 75, children, Kevin, Kenny (Sara) and Donny (Christina) Ladd, Laura Fox; several half-brothers and sisters, and grandchildren; mother of his sons, Kevin and Kenny, Nancy Ladd, and Caroline Ladd, mother of Donny and Laura.
Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a paratrooper and a faithful member of the Southern Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and writing.
Services conducted by Norman F. Chance Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

SHIRLEY ANN CRAIG KEEN, 91, widow of John Keen Sr.; children, John Jr. (Barbara), Sharon, David (Rebecca); six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Kilgore.
Shirley worked at Western Electric, WTTV, Merchants Bank and retired from Indiana Bell/Ameritech.
She was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church for 72 years. She sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies included crocheting, making plastic canvas items, crossword and Sudoku puzzles. For many years she and Johnny could be found eating breakfast at McDonald’s.

RONALD EDWARD PARDUE, 66, long-term partner, Kathy Cardin; siblings, Jack (Mary), Rick (Melissa) and Michael (Judy) Pardue, Donna (Frank) McClure; four grandchildren.
Ronald worked at New Crown Cemetery for over 30 years until he had to retire.  
Graveside services will be Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 2 p.m. in New Crown Cemetery, 2101 Churchman Ave.

LUANNE ROCKWELL, 86, husband, Wayne Rockwell; daughters, Rhonda Mussoni (Jim) and Cheri Parker (Matt); five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

GARY L. SALISBURY, 78, wife, Charlene Salisbury; daughters, Michele (Chris), Symone; sibling, Karen (Fell); seven grandchildren.
He graduated from Decatur Central High School and joined the U.S. Air Force. Following his military career, Gary entered the logistics industry.
In the late 1960s, he was the lead singer and guitarist in a band. A passion for music continued throughout his life. He had a standing gig at Teddy’s Burger Joint playing guitar and singing. Family was everything. He thrived around loved ones. He fiercely fought a battle with cancer, while retaining positivity and wry wit.

NANCY MAE SCHLANGEN, 75, widow of Paul Schlangen; daughter, Dawn Lehman Hardebeck; four grandchildren; three great-granddaughters.
She worked at K-Mart for 35 years in different positions over the years. She enjoyed life, spending time with her daughter, grandkids, great-grandkids and her fur baby, Frappy. She also enjoyed watching Harry Potter.

BARBARA LEE TEX, 89, widow of Lawrence J. “Larry” Tex; children, John (Bonnie) Tex, Becky Krauth; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
Barb was a charter member of the Beech Grove Eagles. She especially enjoyed Wednesdays at the club with her son, John.  She loved going to the Indy 500 and traveling with her family. Barb loved to work jigsaw puzzles.
She was very close to her sister, Darlene, speaking to her on the phone several times a day. Her sister was very dear to her heart, being separated only by several miles, they always kept in touch.

CAROLYN W. WEGNER, 91, widow of Robert L. Wegner; sisters, LaVerna and Lillian; daughters, Julia Horn and Cheryl Wegner; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.  
Carolyn was accomplished in her education and academic pursuits and was widely regarded for her work in Nursing and Education. Known for her intelligence and keen observation, she was well-regarded and widely respected in both her professional and personal life.
Arrangements were entrusted to G. H. Hermann Funeral Home.

RYAN ANDREW WHEELER, 34, parents, Roy and Elaine Wheeler; his father, Victor Wheeler; son, Greyson Wheeler; siblings, Melissa (Kevin Earley), Robert (Samantha Ziegler), Tamara and Roy (Joanna) Wheeler Jr.; grandmother, Robbie Wheeler-Cox; fiancé, Taylor Kirkpatrick.
He attended Perry Meridian High School. Ryan worked as a repair technician at Peli Biothermal for many years. His hobbies were fishing, camping and playing video games. Ryan enjoyed being social, and joking around. Ryan loved being a father to his son.
Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Ave., 46227. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.

ROBERT JOHN “BOB” ARNOLD, 65, wife, Sheron Arnold; daughter, Britni Arnold; parents, John and Liesa Arnold; siblings, Beth (Bo) Hannah, Bruce (MaryAnn) Arnold and Barbara (Bobby) Roper.
Bob was known to his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews as Uncle fun. They hold fond memories of a loving uncle.
Bob established a general law practice in Shelbyville County and provided counsel to his clients for over 40 years. He was a talented musician and guitarist, performing and composing songs.
Bob was a member and Elder at Southport Presbyterian Church, 7525 McFarland Blvd., 46237, where family and friends will gather at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25 to celebrate a life well lived. Wilson St.Pierre handled arrangements.

DAVID “DAVE” W. BLYTHE, 68, fiancé, Sue Shircliff; sons, Greg and Joe Blythe; two granddaughters; brother, Danny Blythe.
Dave was a graduate of Manual High School class of 1973.  He was employed at AT&T for 22 years, retiring Dec. 2022.
He was a member of Bell Conservation Club and former member of the board of directors at the conservation club. Dave was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing cards, Euchre, trivia, camping and hanging with his friends.
A Celebration of Dave’s life will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2023 at The Tailgate Bar, 8028 S. Emerson Ave. Arrangements have been entrusted to G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home.

JAMES “PAP” D. BLYTHE, 84, wife, Martha Blythe; daughter, Trisha Gaskin; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Bluff Baptist Church. He was a baker at A & P Bakery and Wonder Bread for over 35 years. Pap read his Bible faithfully every day. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed going to garage sales and looking for the best deal, tinkering in the garage, fishing, and playing cards, especially poker.

CHARLES LEE BOONE, 86, wife, Betty Boone; children, Randal (Fay) and John (Paula) Boone, Lori (Ron) Snider; sister, Marie (Fred) Thompson; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
He graduated from Emmerich Manual High School, and joined the U.S. Marines. He was attached to an amphibious unit, spending much of his enlistment on the water.  
Charles was an accomplished woodworker, designing and building furniture for his home, including a grandfather clock that still sounds the hour. He became a self-taught electrician, and evolved from woodworking into commercial construction.

JEFFREY L. BROWN, 65, siblings, Debbie Patterson, Carla Phipps, Phillip Volz (Andre).
He was a member of The Point Church & Community. Jeff enjoyed Franklin Grizzly Cubs and the Indiana Pacers. He enjoyed playing the piano, bike riding, photography and attending various musical concerts. He had his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Olivet Nazarene University. He retired from One Bridge Tech, as a Sr. Computer Developer.

BARBARA SUE CATRON, 72, daughters, Julia (Mark) Jeffries and April (Jose) Delgado; brother, David (Terri) Patterson; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; niece and caregiver, Lisa Hughes.
Barbara was the former owner of Magic Combs Hair Salon. She worked for the Marion County Auditor’s Office then retired from Wayne Township Auditor’s office. Barbara was given a Key to the city from the mayor for her efforts in saving 11 handicapped adults whose bus was involved in a serious accident in Fountain Square. Barbara loved cooking, going to festivals and bowling.

GARY A. CLEVELAND, 77, wife, Terry Cleveland; sons, Derek (Vicki) and Daron Cleveland; two grandchildren.
Gary was co-owner of LaRue Insurance. He received numerous accolades, including the PIA Agent of the year, and Field Representative Association’s Field Representative of the Year for the State of Indiana. He was a Certified Insurance Counselor and taught the curriculum coast to coast.
He was a member of Greenwood Masonic Lodge #514, F. & A.M. He was an active member of the Murat Shrine and past President of the Corvette Club, Murat Band, and the Chanters.
He loved spending time with his family. His passions included working, traveling, motorcycling, boating and Corvettes.

ANTHONY “VINCE” VINCENT CORLISS, 60, children, Brittany (Joe) Zimmerman and Braden (Avery) Corliss; three grandchildren; mother, Mary Corliss; siblings, Charles (Sandy), Doug (Crystal), Don and Joe (Lisa) Corliss.
He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1981. Vince worked as a Sheriff’s Deputy for Johnson County Sheriff’s Department. Vince was a member, and served as the treasurer, for the Federal Order of Police (F.O.P.) for several years. Vince enjoyed boating and most outdoor activities. Vince had a passion for classic cars and enjoyed working on his classic Chevy Chevelle.

JOANNE DARMELIO, 84, husband, Philip Darmelio; sons, John (Brenda) and Matthew (Amy) Darmelio; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister, Patricia West.  
She was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Special thanks to Franciscan Health-St. Francis Hospice.

JEFFERY WAYNE FREDERICK, 65, wife, Susan Frederick; mother, Dorotha Frederick; brothers, Mike and Mark Frederick; children, Jeffrey Frederick (Ashley), Kate Marshall (Dwayne); three grandsons.
Jeff worked hard his entire life to make sure his family was well cared for. He could fix just about anything related to houses or cars. He was a man of few words, but what words he did speak were profound. He was patient and caring, especially when it came to his grandsons, who he helped to raise. He was an excellent role model of how to be a great man.

JULIA A. HAYES, 82, daughters, Kristi Polus (Bruce Yunker) and Kim Guerrini (Nick); three grandchildren.
Julie was an elementary school teacher for Center Grove Schools retiring in 1999. Later in life, she was a Teacher’s Assistant, teaching both in the Special Education Department and ESL summer program.
Julie enjoyed traveling in the United States and abroad. Her faith was an important part of her life, reading Bible scriptures daily. Julie loved country music. She also enjoyed getting lost in a good mystery novel, and rarely missed an IU basketball game.

PATRICIA MAY WHEELER HOLZER, 69, husband, Chuck Holzer; children, Jeremy, Mike and Tina (John Hernandez) Holzer, Michelle (Chris) Spevacek; sisters, Rita Topping, Elizabeth Wheeler; seven grandchildren.
Patricia was a member of Nativity Catholic Church and the Southside Ladies. She enjoyed sewing, baking, quilting, jigsaw puzzles, doing needlework, traveling, and ordering her family around.

MARTHA J. JOHNSON, 84, widow of Richard Johnson; children, Mark Johnson and Kay (Doug) McPherson; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Edward “Eddie” Tucker, Beth Burger, Janet Hess and Karen Deering.  
She loved traveling, hiking, “winning” at the casino, being with family and her friends. She never met a stranger. She was always engaging and loved having great conversations! Her food items she would bring to events were always a big hit. She loved going to see live music. She lived every day to the fullest and always had a smile.

NEILL KLATTE, 73, daughter, Niki Klatte; guardian, friend and caretaker, Carol Shugert Carlson; grandchildren.
He was a very well-known Concierge for the Indianapolis Marriott Hotel for many years.

NANCY KAY PARKER, 78, husband, Paul Parker; brother, Bob Shelby; children, Michael and Connie Haskett, Curtis Dennison; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter.
She was an avid homemaker with a history of truck driving for three years with her husband Paul, working for RCA and Kmart earlier in life. Nancy loved nothing more than to be with her family, at church or outside planting flowers in the spring with her great-granddaughter Mikayla. She was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She would greet members every Sunday, to help with Sunday school.

MICHAEL E. “MIKE” “MOOSE” RIDENOUR, 76, daughter, Nicole Kiefer (Matthew); three grandchildren; brother, Thomas W. Ridenour.
Mike graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in 1965. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force. He worked in insurance, real estate, and the food and beverage industry.
He was known for his love for the Indiana State Fair. He was a man who loved family gatherings and traditions including Christmas Gift and Hobby Show; Indiana State Fair, watching fireworks downtown, visiting Garfield Park Conservatory during Christmas, and Sunken Gardens during the summer.

CAROLE JOANN PHELPS TANNER, 59, widow of Scott Tanner; children, Madeline and McKeon; mother, Anna Maples; mother-in-law, Sue Tanner; stepsiblings, Linda Wolski, Lois Antley, John Maples and Janice Shaver.
Carole graduated from Franklin College, triple-majoring in economics, management and accounting. She was fierce yet kind, strong yet compassionate, and wickedly funny. An inspirational force to be reckoned with, she thrived despite major health challenges.
She enjoyed crafting, cooking, reading and listening to podcasts that inspired her. Carole loved traveling and vacationing with her family at the beaches of Seabrook Island, SC.

PAT K. VAN VALER, 79, widower of Judy Van Valer and Beverly Van Valer; sons, William “Bill” (Megan) and John Van Valer (Jenny); five grandchildren.
Pat received a bachelor’s degree from IU then graduated from Indiana School of Law. Pat worked for the National Bank of Greenwood, and then worked for the successor banks. He also owned Landes Costume Company and was the founder and owner of Van Valer Heating & Cooling.
He was a strong father, mentor and role model, and a friend to all who knew him. He always carried an infectious smile and laugh.

JUDITH ANN OWEN DUFFY YOWELL, 86, widow of Russell Yowell; sons, Kenny Duffy and Daniel Yowell; daughters-in-law, Andrea Duffy and Tammy Yowell; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter.
