Betty told stories of her life experiences as friends and family heard tales of growing up during WWII in England, living through the Blitz and eventually leaving London with her mother in early 1942 to live with relatives until the end of the war.
Betty was known for her friendly manner, her British accent, her delightful, clever humor, a passion for sharing a good cup of tea and her rather diminutive height.

He was a faithful Christian and loved his family. Paul Jr. met his wife of 22 years at Integrated Distribution Services where they both worked.
He was always outside on his front porch in the warmer months greeting whoever walked by. If anyone needed something, he was always there. He enjoyed visiting the casino and horse tracks as well as traveling.

Virginia loved to travel, bowl, crotchet, sew, and tell jokes. She was a long-time member of Suburban Baptist Church in Greenwood.

MICHAEL E. FARR, 62, wife, Jennifer Farr; father, Daniel Farr; children, Jon, Roger (Heather), and Michael Farr, Jr., Tia (John Campbell) and Jerry (Stephanie Carver) Shaw; eight grandchildren; siblings, Cheryl (Mark) Singhurst, Rhonda (Mark) Johnson, Donna Schultz and Steven (Shelly) Farr.
Mike ran a very reputable carpet business. He enjoyed working hard and was very talented at laying carpet. He enjoyed being outdoors sitting around a bonfire, cooking out and playing corn hole. He liked to play video games, watch television and listen to good music. There was nothing in the world that Mike loved more than his family and his pets.

JERRY W. GRIDER SR., 82, wife, Lola Grider; sons, Marty (Patty) and Jerry Grider Jr. (Melissa); two grandchildren.
He proudly served in the National Guard for six years. Jerry worked for Arvin Automotive in Greenwood for 33 years and at Navistar for 10 years before retiring.

Playing cards, bowling, and watching horse races were a few of her favorite pastimes. She was a sports enthusiast who cheered for the Hoosiers, Pacers, Colts, and her athletic family members.
She loved eating popcorn and drinking Pepsi. You didn’t need to ask chocolate or vanilla, the answer was chocolate.
She was a bright, warm, and welcoming light in the world.

Jacqueline was a graduate of Monmouth College, a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and worked in accounting for 25 + years.
She loved needlepoint, word searches and tennis on TV. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile for many years and bus mom to many in the Phantom Regiment.

Larry retired from Linkbelt FMC Rexnord after 42 years where he was a tool and die machinist.
He loved coaching his kids in softball and baseball and was a great teacher with the fundamentals. He loved coaching so much that he continued to coach after his children were grown.
He loved his family and always made it over for Sunday dinner after golf. He was a Godly man and could quote scripture on demand.

DOY C. MANGUM, 87, Doy C. Mangum, 87, widower of Ellen Mangum; son, Stephen Mangum; four grandchildren; two brothers.
Doy worked for many years with WAUSAU Insurance where he worked in the Claims Department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Doy served during the Korean War.

JUANITA MATHIS, 94, widow of Harry R. Mathis; sons, Russell, Darrell (Patsy) and Robert (Kurt Havely) Mathis; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
Juanita enjoyed tending to her flowers in her yard, her daily journaling, and she was an avid baker and was well known for her Snickerdoodle cookies.

JURIS FRANCIS MEGNIS, 81, sister, Silvia Megnis; nieces and great-nieces.
He was born in Kuldiga, Latvia. Juris faithfully served his adopted country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was an armor crewman and typist. After serving in the Army, he became an American citizen.
He was an avid reader, history buff and enjoyed teaching others grammar and linguistics, playing chess, doing crossword puzzles and sudoku and will be remembered for telling jokes. He deeply loved his family and was quick to make friends at his residence at Bethany Village.

BILLIE MARIE MERRICK, 81, Billie is survived by her loving family and many close friends.
She enjoyed a long career with AAA. Billie was a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi International, Alpha Chi Master Chapter, Indianapolis. She enjoyed traveling, game shows, bingo and spending time with family and friends.

SCOTT ALLEN MILLER, 55, daughter, Samantha “Sammi” Miller; mother, Nona O’Brien; stepmother, Pam Crodian-Miller; siblings, Ann Miller, DJ McCallister (Erin).
Scott was born in Beech Grove, Ind. He enjoyed being a father to his daughter, being involved in family events, and working at Rolls Royce.

JOHN A. “TONY” MULLIGAN, 83, wife, Janet Mulligan; children, Sandy (Fred) Loeffler, Christine and Greg (Shauna) Mulligan; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters.
Tony served his country as a Signalman in the U.S. Navy. He received a Good Conduct Medal in 1962.
Tony served 25 years as a police officer at Indianapolis Police Department until retirement. He then served the police department as a civilian servant until 2000.
Tony and Janet enjoyed traveling. They visited Australia, New Zealand, France, Great Britain, and many other places. They are longtime members of St. John Lutheran Church.

JAMES LEONARD RILEY, 50, wife, Jackie Riley; son, Lucas Riley; stepchildren, Levi Burke, Kimber, and Stephen Blair III; parents, Melvin and Sandy Riley; brothers, Brian (Tara) and Mark Riley (Crissy).
Complications from an autoimmune disease resulted in James receiving two liver transplants. He taught himself to craft river tables made of wood and epoxy, which he built to perfection.
James worked as a building engineer for Cushman & Wakefield and was promoted to a supervisory position, prior to his cancer diagnosis in 2022.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m., Friday, July 21 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service, Greenwood Chapel with a memorial gathering from 5-7 p.m.
TINA MARIE SCHULTZ, 45, husband, Tim Schultz; parents, James and Nellie Urick; daughters, Mariah (Mario) Villarreal, Olivia and Tiffany Schultz; siblings, Tammy Siebenthal, Lazalia and James Urick; two grandchildren.
She worked many years with her husband running their construction business. Tina was very artistic, especially in her drawing abilities. She loved to play corn hole. Tina enjoyed the holiday seasons and taking special trips to the beach.

She was a 1991 graduate of Center Grove High School and Purdue University graduate. She was the Director of Special Taxes for the Indiana Department of Revenue.

Brandon passed away from a tragic weightlifting accident Wednesday, July 5, 2023. Brandon graduated with multiple degrees including Finance and Computer Science. He was a software engineer at FAST Enterprises.
Running, biking, working out and chess were some of his favorite activities. Environmentally conscious, he rode his bike to work every day. He was kind-hearted and loved animals, especially his pets and elephants.
