
Greg was a graduate of Roncalli High School, class of 1977, and went on to attend IUPUI. He retired as the general manager of Dant Insurance, where he worked with his siblings, Chris and Kathy, and cousins, Fred and Jeff Schoettle. Greg served on the City Council for the City of Southport for eight years and was the family archivist. Of all Greg’s accomplishments, raising four successful children with his wife, Liz, was at the top of his list; Greg and Liz gave them a good Catholic education and sent them to college. He could not have been prouder.
Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Liz Dant; children, Joseph Nicholas (Sarah) Dant, IV, Gregory Charles (Chloe) Dant, Jr., Evan Christopher (Halle Bova) Dant and Mary Irene (Austin) Palmieri; siblings, Rev. J. Nicholas Dant, III, Kathleen M. Henderson, Gerard P. (Colleen) Dant, Gerald B. (Tracy) Dant, Elizabeth M. (Robert) Derwin, Timothy M. (Karole) Dant, George B. Dant and Harold F. (Michelle) Dant; grandchildren, Liam, Charlotte, Rowan and Ezekiel (Zeke).
Greg was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Frederick A. Dant, Thomas J. Dant, Mary Melinda Dant and Christopher D. Dant.
Family and friends will gather on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lauck & Veldhof Funeral & Cremation Services, 1458 S. Meridian St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 5353 McFarland Rd., with additional visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Inurnment will follow in Concordia Cemetery.

Ray was a teacher and tennis coach for over 25 years at Decatur Central High School. He taught accounting, computer applications and served as the business department chair.
Ray was passionate about classic cars. He enjoyed traveling to car shows in his ‘57 Chevy and was often at The Suds on the weekends. He enjoyed tennis, golfing, gardening and photography.

Ruth worked for many years at Peoples Bank & Trust Company. She was a member of Embroiderers’ Guild of America, Indianapolis Chapter, and was known for her beautiful, detailed needlework.

TOMMIE “CORDELL” HENSON, 95, widower of Chris; children, Carol Koser, Jeff Henson; sisters, Jean Purvine and Earlene Carter; five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He worked most of his life as a truck driver. Later he worked in maintenance at a few Holiday Inns, including the former hotel at the Brickyard Crossing. He had the opportunity to meet many Indy 500 drivers who stayed at the hotel. One of note was AJ Foyt who would not call the front desk, but just go find Tommie when he needed something fixed.
Tommie loved bowling, playing golf and trips with his wife.

She belonged to Phi Theta Kappa honor society while attending Ivy Tech pursuing a Surgical Tech degree. Her most fulfilling work was as a Hospital Greeter at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove.
She was a member of Saint Therese Little Flower Church and a devout Catholic. She loved to gather and was very proactive to assemble family on any given occasion.

He was retired from Allison’s Transmission and served as Constable of Marion County, Perry Township for 30 years.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was the Fire Chief of the Volunteer Perry Township Fire Department, a member of the American Legion, UAW 933, Marion County Republican Club and precinct committeeman.

Pam attended Emmerich Manual High School graduating in 1980. She worked as an Operations Clerk in the transportation industry for many years. Pam was an avid Colts fan and always rooted for the team. She was known for singing karaoke. Pam enjoyed being a Memaw to her three grandchildren.

David graduated from Greenwood Community. He then joined his family to help run The Village Shoppes in Greenwood. Helping to run The Village Shoppes was a great joy in David’s life. He enjoyed meeting and greeting customers at the produce stand on Madison Avenue, taking care of friends and family at the Village Shoppes. He was active in the Greenwood community.
