MYRTLE JEAN PATTERSON ANGEL, 69, widow of Billy Patterson and Michael Angel; children, Billy (Lori) and Melissa Patterson; five grandchildren; stepson, Michael Angel; companion, David Parson.
Jean owned and operated Flowers from an Angel. She also worked for 15 years at Shirley Brothers as a hostess. Jean loved cooking and preparing food for family gatherings, especially Christmas.

LENARD CARLTON BROWN, 62, daughters, Jessica Bastin and Jennifer Brown; two grandchildren; siblings, Belinda Pearson, Joseph, Carl Sr., and Rockie Brown.
He was an avid golfer, loved puzzles, Legos, movies and collecting them. He was one of the most fun people to be around. He never met a person he didn’t love and that didn’t love him.

VICTORIA “VICKI” LYNN CAMDEN, 75, widow of Stephen Camden; son, Barry Camden; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Vicki served her family as a homemaker for her family throughout her adult life. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin. Vicki enjoyed attending church and taking care of her family.
She enjoyed spending time with her best friend and niece, Deb Johnson. She was proud to hold the title of “Best Mom Ever” bestowed on her by her loved ones.

JAMES “JIM” EDWARD GARDNER, 95, widower of Barbara “Bobbi” Gardner; sons, Michael (Deanna), and Stephen Gardner (Billi); daughter-in-law, Carol Gardner; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Jim served in the U.S. Army Air Force and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Afterward, he worked for AT&T/ Indiana Bell Telephone. Upon retirement, Jim owned a lawn mower repair business with his son, Scott.
Jim liked to watch the Cincinnati Reds, Colts and every cowboy movie ever made. He considered himself to be the Bingo King at his retirement community.
A visitation will be Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 11 a.m.- to 1 p.m. Funeral service at 1 p.m.
THOMAS HOFMEISTER JR., 65, wife, Deniese Hofmeister; children, Hannah (Isaiah) Cox, Stephen (Kati Muller), Samuel, and Seth Hofmeister; mother, Phyllis Hofmeister; sisters, Karen (Greg) Tubac and Kristie Briner; five grandchildren.
A graduate of Greenwood High School, he served in the Indiana National Guard. Thomas became a roofing contractor, owning a successful business.
Thomas loved to ride motorcycles and work outside. As a man of God, he had a giving heart and enjoyed helping others. He took great pride in his family. He was happiest when surrounded by his children.

BENJAMIN OAKES HUGHES, 93, widower of Beverly Hughes; children, Russ and Ben Hughes, and Melody Ray; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed, among other places, in England and Scotland. Upon returning to the States, he took a job with Bell Telephone.
In 1966, Ben put his trust in Jesus Christ. He served and worshiped his Savior for the rest of his life and continues to serve and worship him in Heaven for eternity.
In 1976, Ben felt the call to full-time ministry and became the pastor of Southeast Baptist Tabernacle.

MARILYN ROSE LONG, 65, partner in life, Barbara Allen; children, Aaron Doyle, Carolyn Munoz and Jessica Long; siblings, Pat Brandt, Linda Wise, Johnny, Steve and Jerry Doyle; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
She worked for many years as the assistant manager at Dollar General. Marilyn enjoyed being outdoors gardening and camping. She found peace sitting on her porch watching the birds. She liked to attend cookouts with her family and friends. Marilyn loved to play horseshoes and take walks by the water. Marilyn loved family more than anything in this world.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.
He worked at Cornelius Printing Co. for over 30 years and finished his career at the Indianapolis Star and News.
Jimmie loved to read and discuss politics. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, collecting coins, attending grandchildren’s sporting events, car rides with his wife, watching IU basketball, and the Colts.

Amanda graduated from Franklin Central High School in 1986. She was a recruiter for Venture Logistics. She loved to make people laugh with her huge smile and wonderful sense of humor. Gardening, painting, drawing, and coloring were among the things she enjoyed doing, but her heart belonged to her cats, and football. Amanda was a Colts fan beyond compare, and followed Franklin Central football,.

She graduated from Southport High School in 1974. Julie worked at N.K. Hurst for 40 years, retiring in 2017. Julie loved her family and enjoyed the many memories they created just being together.

Randy was an extremely ambitious, driven, and hard-working man who worked predominantly in freight delivery. Randy loved being outside as much as he could and enjoyed being on the water, working outside and walking. Randy also greatly enjoyed following the stock market and real estate.

LORETTA L. RENNER, 80, widow of Coy Renner; children, Connie Bastin, Rhonda Horton, Robbin, Randy, and Brian Renner; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Loretta and Coy shared over 64 years of marriage together. Loretta was an exceptional mother, who not only raised her six children but also any child that was near.
Loretta had a gift for cooking anything homemade and was known for her famous oatmeal fudge candy. When it came to music, nobody was better than Elvis Presley. Loretta always remained strong-willed, fun and determined to better other’s lives around her.

Debra attended Wood High School and then worked many years as a forklift driver. Debra had long beautiful hair and absolutely loved to have her hair brushed out. She enjoyed going to the Stokley Van Camp. More than anything, Debra loved life and spending time with her family.

MARGARET LUCY ROLAND, 92, widow of Francis Roland; children, Margaret (Jonathan) Wenzlaff, David (Allene) Riordan, Doody (Jennifer) VanArsdale and Rick (Diane) Britton; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Margaret sold tickets for Market Square Arena from the day they opened to the day they closed. Margaret worked the credentials gate for many years at the Indianapolis 500.
She loved to travel, playing the slot machines in Las Vegas and shopping at the Goodwill or the “G.W.” as she called it.

SARA M. “SALLY” SNYDER, 85, widow of William F. Snyder, Jr.; children, Jayne Snyder Bennett, Elizabeth Snyder Schmitt, and Catherine Snyder Keith; sister, Suzann Mitten Owen; five grandchildren.
Sara served as a legislative aide at the Indiana General Assembly for several years. She was then hired by the Indianapolis District Dental Society and became their Executive Director.
She was a member of Southport Presbyterian Church. She greatly enjoyed the family home in Pentwater, Mich. hosting her grandchildren for weeks each summer.

MARGARET STAHL STRACK, 85, widow of George P. Strack; children, Andrea Carver, Theresa (John) Chaniga, David Strack and Jeanine (Mark) Currans; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; siblings, James and William Stahl, Carolyn O’Donnell, Yoko Boyer.
Margaret passed away after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
She was raised in Sacred Heart Parish and attended their school. Margaret graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1956 and from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in 1959. She was a Nurse at St. Francis Hospital and Southside Healthcare and was a volunteer at the Hermitage in Beech Grove.

DAVID L. STEELMAN, 65, wife, Nancy Steelman; mother, Sue Steelman; children, Courtney (Steve) Turner, Grant (Sarah) Steelman, Nicholas, Nolan (Chelsea), Noah (Kylie), Gloria (Miguel), and Nathan (Taylor) Davis; sister, Penny (Gary) Kelly; 18 grandchildren.
He graduated from Center Grove High School in 1976. He then attended Central Nine to be a machinist and went on to a career with Egenolf Machines.
David enjoyed playing golf and spending time with nature but mostly spending time with his grandchildren. He was devoted to his family and loved them with all his heart.

Marissa graduated from Beech Grove High School in 2008 where she enjoyed playing basketball and cheerleading. Her hobbies included crafts, camping and styling hair. She loved being a mom, cooking, going to amusement parks, dancing, gardening, listening to country music, attending concerts, traveling to the Smokey Mountains, and spending holidays with her family.

ELLEN ROZALYA GREER WHERRY, 70, husband, Ken Wherry; sister, Karen Clough; brother-in-law, Charlie Clough.
Ellen was a lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was last employed at the Indianapolis Southside Christian Academy as a teacher. She loved photography, being a Primary Sabbath School teacher, animals, Shetland ponies, cats, the beach and traveling. She played the saxophone and sang at church (she had a beautiful voice).
A Memorial Service will be Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Southside Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Dinner in her honor will be at 6 p.m.
