Bob was known to his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews as Uncle fun. They hold fond memories of a loving uncle.
Bob established a general law practice in Shelbyville County and provided counsel to his clients for over 40 years. He was a talented musician and guitarist, performing and composing songs.
Bob was a member and Elder at Southport Presbyterian Church, 7525 McFarland Blvd., 46237, where family and friends will gather at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25 to celebrate a life well lived. Wilson St.Pierre handled arrangements.
DAVID “DAVE” W. BLYTHE, 68, fiancé, Sue Shircliff; sons, Greg and Joe Blythe; two granddaughters; brother, Danny Blythe.
Dave was a graduate of Manual High School class of 1973. He was employed at AT&T for 22 years, retiring Dec. 2022.
He was a member of Bell Conservation Club and former member of the board of directors at the conservation club. Dave was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing cards, Euchre, trivia, camping and hanging with his friends.
A Celebration of Dave’s life will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2023 at The Tailgate Bar, 8028 S. Emerson Ave. Arrangements have been entrusted to G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home.
JAMES “PAP” D. BLYTHE, 84, wife, Martha Blythe; daughter, Trisha Gaskin; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Bluff Baptist Church. He was a baker at A & P Bakery and Wonder Bread for over 35 years. Pap read his Bible faithfully every day. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed going to garage sales and looking for the best deal, tinkering in the garage, fishing, and playing cards, especially poker.

CHARLES LEE BOONE, 86, wife, Betty Boone; children, Randal (Fay) and John (Paula) Boone, Lori (Ron) Snider; sister, Marie (Fred) Thompson; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
He graduated from Emmerich Manual High School, and joined the U.S. Marines. He was attached to an amphibious unit, spending much of his enlistment on the water.
Charles was an accomplished woodworker, designing and building furniture for his home, including a grandfather clock that still sounds the hour. He became a self-taught electrician, and evolved from woodworking into commercial construction.

He was a member of The Point Church & Community. Jeff enjoyed Franklin Grizzly Cubs and the Indiana Pacers. He enjoyed playing the piano, bike riding, photography and attending various musical concerts. He had his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Olivet Nazarene University. He retired from One Bridge Tech, as a Sr. Computer Developer.

Barbara was the former owner of Magic Combs Hair Salon. She worked for the Marion County Auditor’s Office then retired from Wayne Township Auditor’s office. Barbara was given a Key to the city from the mayor for her efforts in saving 11 handicapped adults whose bus was involved in a serious accident in Fountain Square. Barbara loved cooking, going to festivals and bowling.

Gary was co-owner of LaRue Insurance. He received numerous accolades, including the PIA Agent of the year, and Field Representative Association’s Field Representative of the Year for the State of Indiana. He was a Certified Insurance Counselor and taught the curriculum coast to coast.
He was a member of Greenwood Masonic Lodge #514, F. & A.M. He was an active member of the Murat Shrine and past President of the Corvette Club, Murat Band, and the Chanters.
He loved spending time with his family. His passions included working, traveling, motorcycling, boating and Corvettes.

He graduated from Greenwood High School in 1981. Vince worked as a Sheriff’s Deputy for Johnson County Sheriff’s Department. Vince was a member, and served as the treasurer, for the Federal Order of Police (F.O.P.) for several years. Vince enjoyed boating and most outdoor activities. Vince had a passion for classic cars and enjoyed working on his classic Chevy Chevelle.

Jeff worked hard his entire life to make sure his family was well cared for. He could fix just about anything related to houses or cars. He was a man of few words, but what words he did speak were profound. He was patient and caring, especially when it came to his grandsons, who he helped to raise. He was an excellent role model of how to be a great man.

Julie was an elementary school teacher for Center Grove Schools retiring in 1999. Later in life, she was a Teacher’s Assistant, teaching both in the Special Education Department and ESL summer program.
Julie enjoyed traveling in the United States and abroad. Her faith was an important part of her life, reading Bible scriptures daily. Julie loved country music. She also enjoyed getting lost in a good mystery novel, and rarely missed an IU basketball game.

Patricia was a member of Nativity Catholic Church and the Southside Ladies. She enjoyed sewing, baking, quilting, jigsaw puzzles, doing needlework, traveling, and ordering her family around.

She was an avid homemaker with a history of truck driving for three years with her husband Paul, working for RCA and Kmart earlier in life. Nancy loved nothing more than to be with her family, at church or outside planting flowers in the spring with her great-granddaughter Mikayla. She was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She would greet members every Sunday, to help with Sunday school.

Mike graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in 1965. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force. He worked in insurance, real estate, and the food and beverage industry.
He was known for his love for the Indiana State Fair. He was a man who loved family gatherings and traditions including Christmas Gift and Hobby Show; Indiana State Fair, watching fireworks downtown, visiting Garfield Park Conservatory during Christmas, and Sunken Gardens during the summer.

She enjoyed crafting, cooking, reading and listening to podcasts that inspired her. Carole loved traveling and vacationing with her family at the beaches of Seabrook Island, SC.

PAT K. VAN VALER, 79, widower of Judy Van Valer and Beverly Van Valer; sons, William “Bill” (Megan) and John Van Valer (Jenny); five grandchildren.
Pat received a bachelor’s degree from IU then graduated from Indiana School of Law. Pat worked for the National Bank of Greenwood, and then worked for the successor banks. He also owned Landes Costume Company and was the founder and owner of Van Valer Heating & Cooling.
He was a strong father, mentor and role model, and a friend to all who knew him. He always carried an infectious smile and laugh.
