Jack Keith Lucas was born November 4, 1938, and went to his eternal home on November 2, 2025. Born and raised in Acton, IN, Jack was well known for his many years in sales starting in 1962 as a time clock salesman and his expansive career ending on December 31, 2024, with his retirement after 38 years as a sales executive for Ray Skillman Chevrolet.
In between, he and brother Harold owned Beech Grove Furniture and Appliances at 5th & Main Street for 26 years.
Jack was known by all for his wonderful demeanor, endearing personality, and always treating everyone with tremendous respect. He never ever met a stranger.
Aside from being a wonderful & incredibly loving husband, father, Papaw, Great Papaw, brother, and uncle, he’s also known for being the first ‘Booster Rooster’ for the Franklin Central High School Booster Club. All titles he treasured.
Left to cherish the memories and Jack’s great legacy, is wife of 66 years, Carolyn along with daughter, Tammy Piety (Jay) and son, Dan, grandkids, Ryan Piety (Karen), Ross Piety, Shelby Lucas, and Garrett Lucas (Sarah). He was also the proud Great Papaw to Isla Piety and Lenora Lucas.
Jack was preceded in death by daughter, Shannon (Darland) Lucas, parents, Rodney and Ruth Lucas, brothers, Harold and Bill Lucas, and sister, Rosemary Yarber.
A memorial gathering was held Thursday, November 13th from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Franklin Township Chapel 5950 E. Thompson Road, Indianapolis, IN 46237
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to New Bethel Baptist Church, 8936 Southeastern Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46239, where Jack is a member, accepted Jesus into his heart, and made the public confession of his faith thru baptism at the church 50 years ago.

Faith-filled and full of sparkle, Maia loved makeup, horses, kickball, volleyball, singing, dancing, trying new foods and spending endless hours with her cousins. She was 9 going on 19 and always ready to get the latest Summer Fridays at Sephora, or record a TikTok dance. Her love was an intricate and complex language all her own, carrying sass, strength, and sweetness in perfect balance.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 at O’Riley- Branson Funeral Home.
RICK BRITTON, 64, wife, Diana Britton; children, Roger (Morgan) Britton, Katie (Jason) Maroska; five grandchildren; siblings, Annie Wenzlaff, David (Allene) Riordan, Doody (Jen) VanArsdale.
He was a devoted family man, Holiday Inn chauffeur, vintage Cadillac restorer, lawn care enthusiast, and Boy Scout leader. He showered his grandchildren with love and a collection of tricycles and gently used toys. Rick could spot a good bargain, but he always asked for a better deal. Rick was humble and always said he “won the lottery” with wonderful family, friends, and life.
Service was held at G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home.
VICTOR C. BROWN, 64, sisters, Elsie Brown and Karen Brown.
Victor graduated from Manual High School in 1979. He was a printer and copier for Roche printing. He was a Boy Scout.
Visitation took place at Little & Sons Funeral Home.
CARL S. CHITWOOD, 70, wife, Donna; sisters, Irene (Dale) Edwards and Peggy Good; five sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law.
Carl enjoyed traveling, fishing and being in his Mustang. He was a big race car fan.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
SUSAN WOOLF COFFEY, 76, husband, Martin Coffey; children, Melissa Burke (Scott), Billi Jo King (Claude) and Wesley Coffey (Amanda); brother, Ken Woolf; four grandchildren.
A woman of deep faith, Susan was a devoted Christian and member of First Baptist Church of Beech Grove, where she found strength, fellowship, and purpose in her walk with God.
Susan was an accomplished horse trainer and breeder, whose lifelong love of animals and the outdoors reflected her gentle spirit and strong work ethic. Those who knew her will remember her kindness, determination, and unwavering love for her family.

SAMANTHA ANN DEVAULT, 59, husband, Robert DeVault; children, Jacob, Adam, Hannah and Aliyah; six grandchildren.
Her family was her world, and she cherished every hug, every smile, and every moment shared together.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her warmth, her laughter that could light up a room, her love for outdoors and camping , her love for her arts and crafts and the way she made everyone feel like family. Her spirit will live on in her children, her grandchildren, and in all the hearts she touched along the way.

MICHAEL DAVID RIGNEY, 60, wife, Phyllis; mother, Virginia Martin; children, Michael Jr. and Melissa Skaggs; two grandchildren.
Michael worked as a cook at the historic Artist Colony Inn in Nashville, Ind. He had an unwavering love for Halloween, a holiday that perfectly captured his spirit of fun, fishing, and collecting Hot Wheels. Michael’s journey through life was one of love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear.

MARY E. SCHOTT, 86, husband, John “Jack” Schott; son, John (Tina) Schott; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother; Larry (Judy) Shackelford.
Mary had a creative flair, finding joy in crocheting and quilting, works of art she crafted. Mary’s vibrant personality shone brightly through her playful, feisty spirit, earning her the title of “the life of the party.” Her laughter was contagious, and her joy multiplied when her family gathered around her. Cooking and gardening were some of her favorite pastimes, providing her with a genuine happiness that was evident to all who experienced her warmth.

SANDRA J. KLOESS SKINNER, 93, widow of Dan Skinner; children, Vicki (David) Ray, Daniel (Janet) Skinner, and Carolyn (Michael) Ausbrooks; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
She was a 1950 graduate of Southport High School where she met her future husband, Dan on the school bus. The first time he saw her he announced that he was going to marry her one day. They were married nearly 67 years. Sandy and Dan were charter members of Southport Christian Church. After retirement Sandy became a dedicated fitness walker, walking at least 6 miles daily.

TERRY K. STRAIN, 78, wife, Catherine Strain; daughter, Amanda Strain; siblings, Ken, Sr. and Jack Strain, Janet Manley.
Terry dedicated over 30 years as a high school teacher of Spanish and French languages at Perry Meridian High School. He was a faithful member of Beech Grove Independent Nazarene Church for 51 years. Terry will be remembered for his vibrant personality, his energy, kindness, humor, and loyalty. Terry found joy in travel, attending Southern Gospel music concerts, and foraging for morel mushrooms and wild black raspberries. He cherished moments spent with family and friends.

W. DUANE YEGERLEHNER, 94, wife Joanna; sister, Carolyn (Don) Fulk; sons, Keith (Gina), Jeffrey, John, James (Julie); five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
His career as a United Church of Christ minister and pastor spanned several decades. He loved performing piano music at family gatherings, and liturgical music especially, having studied organ at Lakeland. He played throughout his career and into retirement at St. Luke’s UCC, Garfield Park UCC and G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home.
