She worked at Meijer for over 20 years and always wished she could have continued with her co-workers longer. Sherri loved animals, especially horses and sharks. She loved flowers and gardening. Sherri was also interested in all things supernatural. She was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and dog mom first and foremost, always thinking of others first before herself.

Bob graduated from Wood High School. He worked more than 34 years as a Capsule Imprinter retiring from Eli Lilly in 2000, and he spent 13 more years as a bus driver for Perry Township Schools. Bob has always been a die-hard Wood H.S. Alumni and an avid racing fan.

Bill was a graduate of Franklin Central High School in 1983 and attended Butler University from 1983-1987. He had such a big personality and was the life of the party. His laughter was contagious. Bill started his own successful business, Central Indiana Moulding and Millwork, in 1997. Before starting his own company, he worked in the building industry for many years.

Bill was an avid reader and liked to travel with his sisters. They had a goal to visit all 50 states and only missed out on making it to Alaska. He also enjoyed old rock and roll music and baseball, keeping up with all the stats. He worked as a bartender for many years and retired from Ace Hardware where he managed the store.

Sue loved people and built a long list of clients and friends during her 25 years as a beautician and salon owner. She was so kind-hearted to everyone she met.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired as an engineer from Allison Transmission. He loved camping and was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Donald graduated from Harry E. Wood High School in 1969. He was a postal worker for 26 years. Donald was an avid football fan and enjoyed watching all types of sports. He loved working out and helping coach youth sports.

She always put others needs before her own and never asked for anything in return. She had many friends that she loved and cared for in her Brookhaven apartment community. She was a forgiving person. She would take anyone in that needed a home.

She was employed at Manual High School for many years in the guidance department. Marikay was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Franklin. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, writing, photography and flowers.

She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1979. Erin worked for the Marion County Public Health Department in TB control. She spent many years as the team mom, band and choir mom, making her best known as “Mama Knight.” She always had an open door and a full snack drawer.

RICHARD DONALD MITCHELL, 79, widower of Sherrill Mitchell; children, Rhea McCombs and Richard (Sue) Mitchell, II; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; life-long friends, Jimbo Strong, Buddy Ditchley.
He worked for many years as a truck driver for multiple companies and lastly worked for Royal Foods until he retired. Richard liked to go bowling, play basketball, play horseshoes and go to horse races. His favorite artist of all time was Elvis Presley.

John was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a foreman at Navistar until retiring in 2003. John enjoyed golfing, boating, gambling and hunting with his sons and grandsons and traveling with his family. John was a CYO coach for many years and coached many different sports at St. Barnabas Catholic School. His true passion was always football.

Jodi graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. degree from the University of Indianapolis and a Master’s Degree in Music Performance from Butler University. She was formerly employed as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Indianapolis and IUPUI and taught private students of all ages. She often performed on flute as a soloist and in groups of musicians.

He graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in 1975. Mickey honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1975-78. He retired from National Wine & Spirits in 2005. Mickey was a member of Teamsters Union. He was also an artist for ABATE of Indiana and all of his artwork is in the National Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. His hobbies were drawing, painting and playing the guitar.

She was a 1951 graduate of Greenwood High School. Carolyn had been a longtime bookkeeper for several local companies, including Clarke Appliances and the State of Indiana. She had also been a longtime bus driver for the Greenwood Community School system. When not tending to her family, Carolyn was an avid animal lover.

Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea, then served as First Sergeant in the Army Reserve. He taught Industrial Arts at Southport and Perry Meridian High Schools. He was a member of Center United Methodist Church. The documentary film “My Grandpa’s Garage”, tells of his life as a collector of cherished items held under the roof of his A-frame garage.

Bobby worked for the city of Greenwood for many years retiring in 1995. He walked everywhere he could in Greenwood. He could tell you almost everything about the city and was often referred to as a historian.
Bobby attended First Baptist Church of Greenwood. Bobby loved fishing, working in his flower gardens, and reading his Bible. He was an Indianapolis Colts and IU fan. He was a devout Christian and could talk for hours about his faith.
