The arrival of fall and October means that the summer-long Cruse-ins, sponsored by The Southsider Voice, came to an end for 2019 on October 4 in the parking lot of of Beck’s Service Center on the Southside.
Sunny skies with pleasant temperatures made for a perfect evening with a festive crowd on hand that admired over 65 classic, restored and custom-built cars, trucks and motorcycles on display.
The Cruise-Ins are a Southside summer tradition held on the first Friday of each month from May through October. Each Cruise-In features free food and water. The recent Cruise-In featured homemade chicken-and-noodles, green beens and bacon, pizza and chocolate-chip cookies.
The six Cruise-Ins this year set all kinds of records, including a single-event record of participants with their variety vehicles and attendees from throughout the area.
The Southsider Voice fully appreciates everyone who contributed, participated and attended the Cruise-Ins for an unforgettable summer of fun and fellowship, too.
It will be six months before the 2020 Cruise-Ins begin, but plans already are underway to make the coming season another record-breaker. So, be sure to mark your calendars for Friday, May 1, 2020, at 6 p.m. and be ready for more fun-filled Cruise-Ins.
