The 11th annual Southern Plaza Charity Car Show was held Sept. 9 in remembrance of fallen Southport Police Lt. Aaron Allan. Beautiful weather helped to attract 70 entries, which included cars, trucks and bikes. The judges awarded 20 trophies.
The show raised $1,300 for Charity Shop with a Cop, Noble of Indiana and Cottage for Kids. The Bartram Foundation had a booth that accepted donations and sold T-shirts to benefit the Allan family. Southport police showed off their cars during the show. A huge thanks to Hicks Towing Service for transportation of the IndyCar provided by the Sarah Fisher/O’Gara family and Bart Heldman from Business Art Designs, who provided the design and wrap. The show was hosted by Chris Truran and Paul Rippy, and breakfast provided by Jennifer Lessaris, owner of Bert and Den’s, and Kroger. |
