Jason Sawin from Indianapolis was cruising in a late-model Dodge Challenger when he learned about a new car from Chrysler called the Hellcat.
He read everything about the new car and then began a search on the internet of Indiana dealerships. He spotted a blip about a dealership in Winamac, Ind., that was about to receive six new cars within a week. He called them but they had no confirmation of such a delivery. Jason drove up north to them anyway on the following Saturday just in time to see the truck hauler off-loading the new cars.
Several hours later he was driving south in his new 2015 red Hellcat. The car has a 6.2-liter, 707-horsepower engine capable and launches from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and 0 to 100 mph in 7.8 seconds. It is capable of 126 mph and 11.7 seconds in the quarter-mile. Top speed is 199 mph, according to “Motor Trend” magazine test results.
Jason said it takes time and some practice to get used to all that power and how to drive the car without having the rear end break loose. He also noted that it’s the perfect car for a person experiencing a midlife crisis.
He enjoys his Hellcat immensely and stops by cruise-ins when he has time.
Until next time, happy cruisin’!
