By Steve Milbourn Greenwood Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5864 commander Chief Warrant Officer 3 George M. Wallace has spent his entire adult life in the Army. Wallace, 48, has served at Forts Jackson, Belvoir, Benning, Lewis, Polk and Lee and in Schweinfurt, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Sarajevo and Bosnia. His specialty is logistics and serving as a quartermaster. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Army Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Wallace is a life member of Greenwood VFW Post 5864, where he has served as junior vice commander an co-judge advocate. He recently was elected as senior vice commander for 2016-17. He and his wife, Connie, also a life member of the post, have two daughters, Michelle and Maryann. |
