A public meeting to provide an update on the reconstruction of I-65 from Southport Road to the I-465/I-65 interchange and I-465 from Emerson Avenue to the interchange will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, at South Grove Intermediate School, 851 S. Ninth Ave., Beech Grove.
Among the items to be discussed will be the construction of noise walls and other noise mitigation measures.
Walls are scheduled to be built from Emerson Avenue to Sherman Drive on the east- and westbound lanes of I-465, and westbound from the north side of I-465 from Sherman to about one-fifth of a mile west.
Along the north- and southbound corridors of I-65, noise barriers will be erected from approximately Gray Road to I-465, and northbound from the east side of Gray to about one-fifth of a mile south.
The meeting will begin with an open house at 5 p.m. followed by a formal presentation at 6 p.m. Project maps and displays will be available for viewing, and INDOT representatives will be available before the open house to address questions and concerns.
