RES, a leader in dental industry services, has announced that it will renovate the former Gerdt Furniture store in Southport to house its sixth location. The expansion will bring 150 jobs to the area.
“I am pleased that Renaissance has chosen our city for its expansion and appreciate their support for our city,” said Mayor Jesse Testruth. “We’re also grateful that they are supporting upgrades to our city park with this $50,000 donation. That kind of commitment reflects a company culture that values economic success as well as the community where its employees live.”
Jonathan Raimondi, RES vice president of information technology, graduated from Southport High in 2000 and is leading the renovation of the Gerdt building, which is scheduled to open in March.
“I was impressed with Mayor Testruth’s vision to make Southport a family-friendly community with amenities that are accessible,” Raimondi said. “RES is proud to partner with Southport to make sure all children are able to use the playground regardless of physical disabilities.”
RES got its start in a Martinsville garage in 2002. Its operations now span six locations on the Southside. RES processes more than 35 percent of every dental claim nationally.
