His service project – the last requirement to become an Eagle Scout after earning 21 merit badges – entailed him coordinating the work of 20 volunteers to build storage units for the ministry programs of Southport United Methodist Church.
Jeremy, 15, son of Jerry and Darlene Gilliam and a member of Troop 39 at Southport United Methodist Church, is freshman at Perry Meridian and has been involved in Scouting for nine years.
Only 4 percent of Scouting’s national membership attains the rank of Eagle.
