Jeremy Gilliam Jeremy Gilliam has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest attainable honor in Scouts, upon demonstrating leadership as an assistant patrol leader, patrol leader and quartermaster.
His service project – the last requirement to become an Eagle Scout after earning 21 merit badges – entailed him coordinating the work of 20 volunteers to build storage units for the ministry programs of Southport United Methodist Church.
Jeremy, 15, son of Jerry and Darlene Gilliam and a member of Troop 39 at Southport United Methodist Church, is freshman at Perry Meridian and has been involved in Scouting for nine years.
Only 4 percent of Scouting’s national membership attains the rank of Eagle.
