“Before I made this decision, I talked to a lot of people, and I listened to a lot of people,” Sandlin said. “I kept hearing the same thing – that people in District 36 want someone who’s from this district to represent their interests.
“I grew up right here on the Southside; I’ve worked here, served the public here and lived here with my family. I know this area, and I know the people. I’m ready to be your state senator and represent tax-paying citizens in Marion and Johnson counties.”
Sandlin emphasized that his background makes him the most qualified candidate for the position. “I’m a small-businessman. I’ve been active in the community in various positions. And I served more than two decades with the Indianapolis Police Department.” He also was on the Federal Drug Task Force for three years.
“I’m prepared to face our challenges in education, jobs, crime prevention and law enforcement with expertise, experience and a commitment to strong, conservative family values.”
Sandlin, an Army veteran, owns Jack Sandlin & Associates, a firm that provides fraud examination, security consulting and private investigation services.
He and his wife, Lydia, have one daughter and three grandchildren.
