Team members can choose to ride distances between 13 and 100 miles in scenic Hope, Ind., which boasts Mennonite homesteads, a winery, windmills, the Rural Letter Carriers Museum and a one-room schoolhouse.
The team is raising money for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and will be guaranteed at least $200 if 20 or more riders sign up. The more riders that register at www.hoperide.org, the bigger payday for the panty. The grand prize is $2,000. The registration fee of $20 per rider ($10 for children ages 14 and under) includes a T-shirt, lunch and a root beer float.
The Sister Circle is a group of women who come together to serve, pray and socialize. “We don’t darn socks or clean up after the Men’s Club, said Mary Masengale. “Instead, we can be found praying the rosary, painting wine glasses, running the parish picnic, attending retreats and much more.”
