Perry Meridian and Center Grove students escorted residents of Greenwood Meadows to a senior prom May 16.

Football players from Center Grove and wrestlers from Perry Meridian were on hand as staff prepped the facility for the prom.

Juniors Jack Servies and Noah Warren of Perry’s wrestling squad took part in the senior prom and the one for memory care residents.

“Coach (Matt Schoettle) said we could miss practice tonight for this,” Servies said. “I feel everyone should give back to the community somehow. This is just really a good way to do it.”

A king and queen were crowned for both proms.

Perry Meridian senior Katelyn Slagle works at Greenwood Meadows as an activities assistant and took part in setting up the festivities.

“It’s fun. I love my job here,” she said. “I love playing games with (the residents). We play bingo. It’s awesome.”
