Parents hoping to bring son home from hospital in France
SUBMITTED PHOTO Alex Kalscheur is in a French hospital. A GoFundMe page has been set up for Alex Kalscheur, who fell off a 30-foot retaining wall while visiting the French Alps July 7. Kalscheur, manager of the McDonald’s by Greenwood Mall Park a student at Marian University and an Eagle Scout, broke his back and immediately underwent surgery in Grenoble, France, where he is now.
His parents, Michael and Amy Kalscheur, had to leave their five younger children home (Alex is one of eight children) to help care for him overseas. The family is trying to bring Alex home; however, it will require a medical air evacuation, which is not covered by insurance and is estimated to cost around $100,000.
