Allie Kast is Mayor Joe Hogsett’s new neighborhood advocate to Perry and Franklin townships, and she is eager to hear the concerns of community leaders and residents.
Kast, a recent University of Indianapolis graduate who majored in political science, international relations and Spanish, hosts weekly community hours with the public from 1-3 p.m. Tuesdays at the Perry Township Government Center, 4925 Shelby St. Her meetings with Franklin Township residents are from 3:30-5:30 p.m. every Thursday at Franklin Road Library, 5550 S. Franklin Road.
Kast, who can be reached at 327-5110 or emailed at [email protected], will relay her findings to the proper people or department and direct residents to the right resources. “I hope I am able to help solve a lot of problems,” she said.
“This really is a dream job; I love public service, and I love working with people,” the Michigan native said. “This is an excellent way to start my career. I love Indianapolis and its people.”
She served as a mentor for Indianapolis Public Schools and volunteered at the Global Peace Initiative and the Southside Animal Shelter while pursuing her degrees.
