The Best of the Fest schedule: Friday - 7:30 p.m., “The Whale,” stars Brendan Fraser as an obese and reclusive English teacher. Fraser is a favorite to win Oscar’s best actor; Saturday – 2:30 p.m., “Rally Caps,” a youngster who dreams of pitching for a Little League team is setback by injury; 5 p.m. - “Butterfly the Sky,” the story of PBS’ series “Reading Rainbow” with LeVar Burton; and 7:30 p.m. – “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” a funny sci-fic action adventure about an exhausted Chinese-American woman who can’t finish her taxes, nominated for 11 Oscar awards. A public reception to meet this month’s featured artist, Paul Crosby of Southport, is Friday, March 3, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Southside Art League Gallery, 299 E. Broadway. Crosby’s works will be on display at the Southside Art League through March. The variety of his works features acrylics, ceramics, chalk, and paper making.
