Homecroft’s first Little Free Library, which features a nice selection of books for all ages, is located at 1633 Maynard Drive, where residents are invited to stop by and take a book while leaving one.
Located in the front yard of Brian and Natalie Davis, the library is named in honor of Brian’s mom, Susan Davis, a 30-year kindergarten teacher who died in May.
“She always stressed the importance of reading, so this is a nice tribute to her,” said Natalie, whose brother, Casey Strange, built the library.
“It gets some business,” the Davises agreed. “It’s always interesting to see when new books are dropped off and other ones are taken.”
“I recently read one of the books that was dropped off,” Natalie said.
Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that inspires a love of reading and sparks creativity by fostering neighborhood book everywhere.
