Chuck Brewer, the Republican candidate for Indianapolis mayor, has been inducted into the Kiwanis Club of Perry Township.
He owns the Potbelly Sandwich Shop franchise on Monument Circle and the Soupremacy Soup Shop, just around the corner on Market Street.
Brewer attended Wilton High School and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has a son, Charlie, 9.
The club, which meets at 7 a.m. every Thursday at IHOP, 7521 S. U.S. 31, provides college scholarships and supports a variety of organizations, including Baxter YMCA, Riley Hospital for Children and Hunger Inc. Info: 710-3199.
