The blast of trumpets, the warmth of woodwinds and the thunder of percussion will be heard at 8 p.m. today, when the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra takes the stage at Garfield Park’s MacAllister Center for the Performing Arts, 2450 Shelby St.
Patrons can grab a seat in the amphitheater or bring a blanket or lounge chairs and enjoy a picnic on the lawn. Either way, they’ll find themselves humming along to familiar melodies throughout the free concert, which will be followed by a fireworks show.
