Franklin Central had its annual homecoming parade in Wanamaker Thursday under perfect weather conditions
Student Council sponsor Ashley Thompson was pleased to have participants from every school in the township.
“This is definitely a community event; we have support from every corner of the township,” Thompson said. “It’s definitely a point of pride in the community.”
The parade route is compact enough that the first floats finish the route while the last in line disembark. Student council representatives worked to arrange cars from Ray Skillman and candy donations for the parade. Senior Rebecca Grossman is on the student council and networks with the Indiana Association of Student Councils. “We are able to share our ideas of how to run a student council and are able to network with different high schools in the area,” Grossman said. “So that’s really helped allow to make our homecoming parade so successful is by networking with other schools, figuring out what works well what doesn’t and how to bring more school spirit.”
