Festivities at Southport Park, 6900 Derbyshire Road, will include free hayrides and games for children, dancing, games of yesteryear, a straw maze and craft vendors selling handmade items.
Festivalgoers can also make candles, purchase fall flowers and listen to music from Darrin Isaac from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
And instead of bobbing for apples, there will be games of “Long’s dangling donuts.” “You will have to join us to see what the game entails,” laughed Marylynne Winslow, director of the Southport Parks & Recreation Department.
The Lions Club will sell walking tacos and hotdogs, with proceeds going to the Southport Police Department to help defray the cost of body cameras.
“All in all, it’s a day to celebrate neighbors, friends and family while we kick back and have fun in Southport Park,” Winslow said.
There is no admission fee, and most activities are free.
