When foster Labradors are under the care of Jeanie Underwood at her “Hotel Underwood,” they can rest assured of five-star accommodations.
Her most recent guest, Koby, stayed for two months before checking out Dec. 16 to go live with his new owners, Steve and Kim Stacy, who reside near South Bend.
“I already miss him so much. I love Labs and all dogs,” said Underwood, a Realtor who owns the Re/Max Results Dream Team. “He was such a good dog. His new owners have texted me pictures of him.”
Underwood, who has four dogs, cares for Labradors through Love of Labs, an agency that saves unwanted and unloved Labs.
“Koby was very sick when I got him, and he needed to go on a special diet and four medications. He was completely healthy for his new owners after gaining 9 pounds under my care.”
Indiana’s chapter of the rescue group is holding a fundraiser for supplies and money through year’s end. All donations up to $5,000 will be matched by the Ed Martin Automotive Group. Visit www.lolin.org for more information.
