Additionally, $578,722 from the Redevelopment Commission and $193,430 from the property owners will finance the project. Twenty-two of the 33 Downtown buildings will have their facades updated.
“This is another piece of our Downtown revitalization,” said Mayor Mark Myers. “We continue to build upon recent efforts to breathe new life into this once thriving location. I am excited to see such great participation by the building owners and support from the Redevelopment Commission.”
Using the Downtown revi-talization plan as the guide for the facades, a team from Axis Architecture will work with building owners to finalize elevations and develop design documents that are planned to be put out to bid in November. Construction is slated to begin in January.
